wrong grammar

I don't want to be rude. But I have read a lot of posts here that are so grammatically wrong. Well, can't blame them, maybe this is their way of making friends, or earning money.

"Don't ... Post discussions, responses or comments criticizing members for bad/broken English or bad spelling. Everyone is welcome at myLot, we have users from all around the world and they are welcome regardless of their proficiency with the English Language." http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx

Hi alrirbonganay I think many of us are here to earn some extra money. I admit that sometimes I do have to read the discussions a few times to understand what they mean. But if you think you still couldn't understand what is being written after reading them once or twice, then just skip that discussion and go to the next one. There are still plenty of discussions for you to comment on. Like what the others are saying, English is probably not their native language but at least they did try to write. You should give them credit for that. Given time, I'm sure they will improve their English very soon. After all, participating in discussions here has helped many improved their English.

I agree with you Jlyn10. I'm here in myLot to earn, learn and gain friends and networks. I admit that I'm not perfect with my English but I always try my best to communicate in English effectively. MyLot is a good training ground for all myLotters to improve their English language skills.

You cannot correct them because in a response because it is against mylot's policy and it does not bother me. We can only write correctly in a nice way so they get an idea. Ut is hard when someone's grammer is different because they are not English. What we need is an interest here so those who have trouble with English can go and ask for help.

Not all myLotters are proficient in English speaking and writing, particularly if it's not their native language. Even those people who uses English as their primary language have issues with grammar as well. I am amazed how myLotters struggled to express themselves in English and I honour them for that. I, myself is not perfect in English. Even if using "but" in the beginning of the sentence is grammatically incorrect, sometimes, I still use it. There are things that we still need to learn in English. No one's perfect. Who can tell that a person is perfect in English speaking and writing? Even in the label of the fresh milk I use to drink has incorrect grammar and diction; it states that the milk can serve four "glasses" every pack. Not all of us know that plural of the word "glass" is also "glass", and if you add "-es" at the of it, it will give you a totally different word which means "eye glasses". There are times that reading comments with incorrect grammar is a bit challenging (because you have to figure the gist of that comment), but I just don't mind it all. What matters to me is, I enjoy earning, learning and gaining friends here in myLot. Happy lotting

I have corrections. Not all of us know that the word "glass" is also "glass", and if you'll add -ES at the END of it, it will be gonna be a totally different word, which means EYE GLASSES. OMG! I'm getting conscious with my grammar, hehehe. If is still have grammar lapses, lemme know haha :D

I had another mistake: it should be "plural of word 'glass' is also 'glass'" haha I have a question, is there a way we can edit the comment we have already posted?

Is this the new English class? How do I register? LOL! I know, sometimes we are so sure of what we typed is correct but when we hit the post button, we realize that there is a mistake and it is too late to change it. I guess there is a purpose for the preview button but just never bother using it.

Many people here are learning English, and make a lot of mistakes, but there are also a lot of people with English as their first language who make a lot of common mistakes. It annoys me, but as long as I can understand what they're saying, I can live with it.

I see a lot of it too. But, you know, there's a lot of people here who are just learning English, or trying to improve on what they do know. For that, I have to give them credit as English is not the easiest language to speak or write. It's the people who write like they're texting that confuse me the most! you know, like "C U L8R" lol. I've met a lot of people here who don't write well, but they're still counted as friends:-)

You realise the people you're referring to (that you're "not criticising") could be reading this very post you created, right? Also, before you start putting the spotlight on other people's grammar, may I suggest you look at your own?

This community is a mixture of different nationalities and there are really those like me who uses English as second language and my grammar is not perfect as well, i really do not mind reading those with grammatical errors as long as i can understand what that person wants to communicate. I also believe that there are also people here who are here because they want to improve their writing skills as well..we can't be all to perfect in that matter.

There's a few mistakes there. You shouldn't start a sentence with "but", for example, and there's no comma before "or". Hehehe...

Well I try not to let it bother me because lots of people here have learned English as a second language, and I admire their effort. I know my grammar is foreign languages is hideous. Honestly what bothers me more is people who use texting abbreviations like "im goin 2 da stre 4 u". Because that to me is just telling me you're not even going to bother trying to type in an understandable manner.

You are trying to justify yourself by starting this discussion with sentence 'I don't want to be rude', but reading your whole description it appears that certainly you have been rude. You have just become the member of my lot 1 week ago and coming up with such discussion topic to show off that you are pro in grammar. Check and re-read your discussion before you hit the submit button, may be you will be able to figure out your grammatical mistake. Do let me know your tuition fees for teaching grammar as you might find some error in this post and you might wish to correct me, hope I will be able to afford it.

Well, the truth is bitter but i hope this will not hamper many from writing because someone is being critical of their grammar.

Well , I don't have the best grammar, but i'm trying to write in English.

I'm a bit of a stickler for grammar as well, though bear in mind that for a lot of people on here English is not their first language. They're trying to improve their writing skills.

There does seem to be a lot of them, but if I can understand enough of it to reply to it, I will. Some people are here trying to improve their English, which is a plus in my book. If they are asking for advice on how to speak this complicated language properly, I give them major kudos. Some have no interest in doing that and only want money, which I think doesn't help them very much since some of their posts are so incoherent, I can't decipher them. It does become frustrating sometimes, but even I make typos, and I'm not perfect. So, I try to overlook it if possible, though I hold no sympathy for those people that are here only to make massive money, can't type, and whine about not making any money. *Insert eye roll here*
