Hi. I am doing a research project about renewable enegry. I would like to know how money works or the economical process in a renewable project or in the renewable industry itself. If I understand correctly, these kind of projects are usually undertaken by the private sector (like private companies) and supported by the government. If anyone could explain the process in detail or in simple terms, I would really appreciate it.

By renewable energy, do you mean ways that don't involve oil and carbon products? Does waste-to-energy count? There is currently one in the process in my city. It's being started/funded by a private company (just like you said) and supported by our city government by supplying them the location and resources (in this case, mountains of trash). However, the personnel that will be hired, from constructing it to running it, will be taken from the locality. The construction company that will handle the... well, construction will also be one of the local companies. The company that bids with the a low price but can guarantee good quality will be chosen. So far, it hasn't really started yet, so I don't know anything beyond that. I hope this helps.

It does and thank you for the information that you contributed. At least, this confirms my research for the past months. In answering your question about waste-to-energy, it counts as a renewable resource. At least, I know how the 'division of labor' (for the lack of the better term) between the private and public sector works.
