Will San Beda and Letran join the UAAP?

I remember the old days when college basketball was really exciting. Ateneo, La Salle, Letran and San Beda were all under one league -- the old NCAA. The excitement was too much that people played balls and joined brawls and then ran after each other on the streets near Araneta Coliseum or Rizal Memorial. I heard a rumor years ago about San Beda's application for university status which got stalled and thus their transfer to the UAAP couldn't push through. Is there really a strict century-old rule that states that only colleges can join NC while Universities can join the UAAP? But Perpetual is a University and yet it is in the NC. Surely they could bypass this rule and they did. IF SBC and CSJL transfer, that would be a big blow to the NC which has lost some of its founding members. Why not a UAAP-NCAA merger? We can thus enjoy watching all the schools under one tournament. You can also share your opinions about anything UAAP or NCAA here :)

Hello WarriorX, As a Letranknight, avoiding a BIGGER BRAWL is probably a stronger reason why Letran and San Beda was never transferred to the UAAP. i think they should do the seasoning again for both NCAA and UAAP, then make a real promotion of the PLAY OFFS for both NCAA and UAAP but only months after the NCAA and UAAP mania. I don't have that much reaction since Letran is seriously not a university yet and only has a few colleges. besides, if they join the UAAP, i would have a problem liking teams in the UAAP because i would have no choice but to choose Letran...unfortunately, contenders like LA SALLE and ATENEO are so powerful that Letran might permanently remain in the 3rd to 4th ranking in years to come if they joined UAAP. I don't recommend it they should stay in NCAA, that's where they belong
