Have your parents "saved" your money for you when you were a child?

Christmas money, New Years money, birthday money or any holiday money; did your parents ever say that they were going to save it for you?
When I was young, many family members would give me money and my mother would take it and say she is putting it in a savings account for me. 
I'm almost twenty now and I have never seen that money. I know she used much more money raising me but this invisible savings account is very interesting. Does anyone else have one?

Well, when I was a kid, my parents did open a bank account for me. I was really young when they opened it. I must of been a toddler or something. They did put in a few dollars every now and again into this account. When I was about 12, they told me about it, and decided to just give me my own bank card and everything. I don't think that there was much in it, but there was still something in there. It was still nice of them to do that all the same.

I have secret accounts for my kids too. When they are on their own and moving out of our house I will give it to them to help them start out. It can be a cushion for them when they need it most. Maybe she is doing the same.

When i was a child, my mother would give to me money which she said came from my godparents. I never remembered her keeping my money. She always give them to me so i can enjoy them, as she said.

When I was a kid, all the gift money given to me went directly into my mother's handbag and disappeared. My mom told me that it is not safe for me to carry money because it may be taken away by thugs or I may lost it myself. Also, I have my own savings account from a bank. I also got a piggybank as a present when the account was opended. Whenever I have some coins, I would put them into the piggybank. When it is full, my dad will deposit them into the account. It was really not that much money but it taught me a habit of saving money.
