Well, it really depends on what our goals are and what is important for us. For me, the best job is one that I can do well and that I enjoy doing. For some people the best job might be the one that pays more, or the one that gives specific rewards like contacts for a better job, etc.
I find that nowadays people are choosing their jobs more with money in mind, than their real preferences, and it although I understand why, I still think it's sad.
I used to talk to people that had this or that job because they really felt was the one for them, they liked doing it, and it almost didn't even feel like work. They were much better professionals as well.
But hey, things change and money is more important than ever.
As for my job I am teaching. I love it still for the opportunity to guide and learn from the kids. It is, however, a stressful job and becoming more so each day. Also all the new ( and some old ) philosophies are hindering the kids instead of helping them, and it pains me to see it. They are now so used to a "fictional " world, where there are no specific consequences, they have every right but not obligations, their true work is not necessarily a condition to pass, life is always fair, etc that when they enter the "real" world where things are not exactly so, they get the shock of their lives. But that's another story :)

Best job? Chocolate taster, one hour a week, for a million pounds a year.
I'm a full-time carer (unpaid) and online writer/editor (paid). I love what I do, even though the pay sucks. I get to set my own hours, I work from home and I only work with people I like. What more could I ask for?

I am currently looking for a job which is flexible and earn enough money. If I ever found one, I will be very happy and contented.

I think the best job is anything that gives satisfaction to the one doing it. It may not be high-paying and the pressure might be enormous, but if the person enjoys doing his job then that job would be the best ever.
I am currently employed as an office staff, doing accounting functions for a manpower agency which is operating mindanao wide here in the Philippines. The pressure could be overwhelming at times, especially during cut-off periods, but I am relatively happy. I still get to enjoy and participate other activities like clubbing and hanging out with friends. And, I also get some extra time that I currently allot for money making purposes such as working on-line. :)
