Independent or Interdependent

Do you believe adults should be independent, or do you feel people should be interdependent upon each other? I think my goal as a parent is to raise children who are interdependent; who feel they can count on others, friends, neighbors family, for help when help is needed, without shame or remorse, and can give help without feeling as if they are then owed a debt of gratitude. That giving one to another should be as natural as the words "hi, how are you?" What do you believe?

interdependancy is the law of nature.... one can't live with out others...... so the families and tribes are formed.... i believe living together is much better than living independatn.... you share lot of your problems...worries... and difficulties.... this is the first step toward maintaining peace and love in the society.... when a child cant live with his/her parent...how can one expect he/she will love to live jointly with others.....
