It can also be turned into a full flegded website (follow the wordpress.org for it). For the free version at wordpress.com, you have too many things that you can use to not only optimize the blog but also a whole lot of templates to chose from. Though blogspot or blogger is popular it is so in the eastern world and the western world still considers wordpress as a benchmark. If you look on at the sites for works, you would find so many opportunities for wordpress... that indicates the repute and use of the wordpress. Oh yes, I work on the wordpress platform for my clients and can definitely say this as I have realized the potential that Wordpress can give.

In my opinion wordpress is a better platform than blogger. i say this because I used them both when I was learning about the web. On blogspot you can make a more fun website but the truth is that when I started working with wordpress I got more skilled in how to get people on my website. Wordpress is way more professional that blogger.
