Don't know if you heard but the former president getting an honor from the Dominican republic to a member of the Order of Merit of Duarte, Sánchez and Mella in the Grade of Gran Cruz Placa de Oro. The Order was in a decree issued by the President Fernandez.

For my two cents, I think Mrs. Arroyo's selection as member is justifiable since it is a foreign government who judged her efforts and her actions on that particular arena - which is international relations. However, this those not exempt her nor her actions in allegations that regards her and her governemnt's. I guess she's better off with international relations but I will give my thanks to the former president's achievements. Whether you love her or you hate her, she did something good despite all the bad. Sometimes, the bad just outweighs and outshine the good. I give Mrs. Arroyo her due but as for the rest (the bad ones), she has to pay. Life is fair in love and in war. And you can never win everything, no matter how smart and cunning you are. At least she's not a lady or a dame.

yes, i've read about that on yahoo news.
in her own right, she deserves the award. she may have several anomalies. but who doesn't? at least she did something beneficial. she actually got this country to survive mostly with unpopular methods.
i would rather have a not-so-honest leader with positive results, than a saintly icon with nothing to show but a good behaviour and residual popularity.

Even she will give dozen of honor from other pretigious or foriegn companies or groups I believe it is not a merit to exempt her to her bad and wrong doing during her administration. I know she have good things done in the country for 9 years in the sit - should be or else nothing but like other president gone in the office... see you around
