I have nothing against Cheryl Cole, I really don't BUT I feel she shouldn't have to jet over to the USA in order to judge on the US X-Factor show. I am sure there are no shortage of female, American singers that could do the job admirably but perhaps they know better and stay away? I know I would! As for Cheryl herself. Would she get through the early rounds and make it to the final I wonder? Maybe on looks alone (which, let's face it, is what the "music" industry is all about now). What do you think of her Geordie accent, can you understand her? I don't watch the British X Factor (or any other mindless "talent" show) unless I'm at Mum's and I find it excrutiating, I don't know about you. Apparently, on Britain's Got Talent last week a young girl came on and recited a poem about animals with a Boar Constrictor snake around her neck! I mean, I thought animals were gonna be banned from such shows, what's that all about? I don't think PETA will be pleased! Anyway, at least Danii Minogue isn't a dog. I like her. Can't sing for toffee though!

Hiya Janey, You are really funny. I don´t know much about Cheryl Cole except for the odd Song or two. Have I been hiding under a Rock? Answer is no because Spain always promotes it´s own Singers first and all the rest come after like Jack and Jill okay going off track here. Geordie accent hmmm. I went out with a Geordie fella ages ago and I could understand him very well and he was very Geordie deep accent for sure. Also my Auntie Iris is very Geordie as well and I knew her Sister Sandra who spoke Geordie with an Upper Gornal twang (grin) I understood all of them and maybe because I am from Wolverhampton this helped us to get on like a House on fire. Britain Has Got Talent and Spain Has Got Talent are a lot of fun and that is it I love watching them. Sadly Spain has not put this Show back on and they have some very bad programs on here at the moment I can tell you so I miss watching Spain´s Got Talent it gave People a chance to show what they could be. As for her Cheryl´s accent I cannot find one Video on you tube where she is actually speaking herself but I imagine that I would be able to understand her yes seeing as the other Geordies I know I can understand them as well. Sure she will do well on the X Factor wherever she goes too. We have to able to laugh at ourselves and I find this very sad as this is a Country where the sense of humour is completely the opposite to the one I know and have known. Get back to you another time kid as Jorge will be shoving me off here in a bit. See ya kid I won´t use slang as it´s not really right on here but I love to use my accent whenever I can and do so most Days. Luvya.xxx

Hiya Janey, Thanks very much Janey for the concern but I am on the opposite side of Spain. Murcia is a Seismic Region but then where we are is as well. According to "experts" we are on a very active fault line nice thought for comfort but really the earth give the odd jump here and there and the odd tremor makes the furniture dance a bit. It´s more alarming if you live in the High Rise Flats really like I was the last time it happened everything danced Rock and Roll for more than ten seconds it seemed like forever. No her Videos are´nt banned I mean I can´t find one where she herself speaks in her Geordie accent. Her interviews are not on there it´s always somebody commenting about her with Photos of her. Lenny Henry makes no secret that he is from Dudley if you listen to the Dudley accent that is about the closest you will get to what the Wolverhampton accent is too. So you see Spain is a very active Seismic Country but most of the activity goes unnoticed as it´s the odd tremor here and there we have about five thousand of them a year. One Night I woke up to find the Bed half way across the other side of the Room I kid you not. Am I the only that notices these things (grin)? Cheryl Cole quite like her anyway catchy Songs have not got a real favourite as there are so many of them too. xxx

Aww, luvya too lol. Perhaps Cheryl Cole videos are banned in Spain? I hope you're not near the earthquake that happened, it's unusual for that part of the world to get them isn't it? Hope you're ok.

I love discussions like this as I just have no idea what they're all about. I know cheryl cole is some sort of celeb, but I don't know what she looks like. I've never seen the X-Factor (but imagine this is a good thing!), and I've never seen Britain's Got Talent! Am I missing anything? :-)

She was in Girl's Aloud, a girl band apparently. I don't think she's in it anymore though and does solo stuff that's..er..not very good, hence her new career judging other people. Bit ironic don't you think?

Janey1966, Well, you may be right to say that there's really no need for Cheryl Cole to be one of the judges on the X-Factor show but I believe other than the contestants, the selling point of the show is really the reputation of the judges. Considering the latest tabloids on her and her successful stint as a judge on the similar show in UK - she's just the right picking for the US show. Shows rely on ratings and viewership where I am sure Cheryl's appearance is being taken into this consideration. I seldom follow these shows closely like Survivor or the Amazing Race but I think there's really nothing much organizers can do to control who and what they allow on the show's auditions if there's no prior stringent screenings of likely contestants. So, we will always have some astonishing irregularities like the ones you've mentioned which is really a waste of time to watch. Better to have a cup of coffee instead of going through some torture for my ears.

I dont know who she is and dont care (see another of my discussion where I say im in a very bad mood today lol) I dont watch those show for the simple reason that I find them very stupid. I like to watch shows where I can learn something. Ive noticed lately though that the US seems to hire a lot of Brits to do this and that. Not sure why either but eh, whatever floats their boats, right? lol

Fortunately, I only have to endure them at Mum's and she normally Sky pluses the shows so she can zap the adverts. Sometimes she will watch it with me there, sometimes she will wait until I go back to Carlisle. Guess which I prefer? Haha!

I have never heard of X-Factor show ,Got talent and the like before, but I feel that market economy makes many things such as music, art too commercialized even may well say dissimilated. They are intent on nothing but box office income.
