Most useless baby gear/items

I know we all have baby gears that we love to use so much, but what about those we thought will be useful but found out useless afterwards... Most, of the moms i know, said that they regret buying many newborn clothes because babies grow so fast. What do you think?

A baby outgrows a pram and a moses basket quite quickly. Therefore it is better to buy a buggy suitable for a newborn to three years old and a cot. A waste of money can be newborn clothing. My babies were too big to go in it at birth. I got given loads of 0 to 3 months clothing. I would have liked to get 3 to 6 months, 6 to 9 months and 9 to 12 months clothing. My babies grew bigger very fast. I found a dummy useful with my first baby but useless with my second baby and my third baby. Lots of people gave me baby toys so the ones I bought were extras. A highchair doesn't have to be bought until the baby is 6 months old. I bottle fed and the tiny bottles were a waste of money. The bottles holding up to 260ml were the best ones I believe.

I agree with you...the clothes. You get tons at your shower and they outgrow them before they barely wear them. Save your money and buy as needed and don't buy the brand names...they are costly and won't last. Shoes are another thing...they don't need the cool sneakers and workboots...they don't walk yet..they just "look" cool. The bottle warmer...don't waste your money. I gave in and bought my daughter one because she swore it would help her out. It was 25.00 and by the time you measured the water and set it up and all, well you may as well have heated it on the stove or just put the bottle in a cup of very hot water for a minute. The list goes on. I say, just stick to the basics and buy 2nd hand...it's still like new when the previous owner got rid of it.

I think the only completely useless thing I ever bought was a baby-sized sponge which baby was supposed to lie on in the bath. When she was newborn it floated even with her lying on it, and when she was bigger she wanted to sit up and play, not lie on a sponge :)
