How do we teach our psychic children to use their gifts properly?

I saw a UK TV programme recently that showed very small children being taught to use their budding psychic gifts. Now, I'm not quite sure about this as I feel that children should be allowed to be children as it is all part of the learning curve to being human. As a Medium, I am thrilled that more and more of our young people are displaying wonderful spiritual gifts but I honestly feel that teaching them to use them should only be carried out after the age of 12. Children need the stability of finding their way in this realm before they learn to access others. I was a psychic child myself and needed guidance, which never came, but I could not have coped with being pushed into something I was not mature enough to handle. As I am hoping to write a book on this very subject in the future, I would value any comments.

This is an entirely unknown area for me, but I would have thought that small children would absorb new information more easily than older ones. Take learning languages for instance, it's so much easier for younger children. If they learnt early, would they not accept their talent more easily?

Being spiritually active is not quite like learning anything else. It can be very daunting for adults let alone children who can either hear, see or sense Spirit all around them without actually understanding what is going on. Adults should teach spiritually gifted children about eternal life and their connections to all life on this planet but they should not push them to use their gifts until they are at an age where they can understand them, and then feel happy about using them. It would not be a good thing if we had 7-year-old Healers and practicing Mediums in the way we have tiny beauty queens and dancers!

I wouldn't suggest that we had 7 year old mediums, but then I don't agree with 7 year old beauty queens either! I was thinking that younger children would be less daunted than older ones, as they have not yet learnt that their skill is something 'special'.

Yes, younger children are less daunted than older ones, and learn at an accelerated rate. Therefore we have a juggling act to do. We have to teach children in such a way that it is fun for them to learn about spirituality. We must not ram it down their throats at such an early age that they are frightened about learning more, or using their precious gifts in the future. I would've loved some adult help when I was a child instead of being told that my gift was from 'The Devil'. I desperately needed loving, gentle explanations about what I was experiencing, and certainly did not need to be told that I was a sinner! I bottled it all up and had to wait until I was 49 years old until I realised that I wasn't evil or crazy, but a Clairaudient Medium! I don't like to see tiny dots being used as painted dolls by their mothers either, Greenmoo. Blessings XJane
