when i watch the movie "twight",i remember the sentence Jacob say to bella "we will be watching you",and today when i renew the movie"the prince and i",Peggy Morgan's brother say to the prince of course they don't know the real identity then,"we will be watching you",i remember several days ago,one of my foreigh friends say to me "i will be watching you", i'm afraid i haven't understand the meaning under the words,so welcome to teach me,and under what circumstances do people say that?i am gald to be taught^-^

Hi dellahappy, I saw the Twlight movie and I can explain the meaning of the sentence in the context of loving someone. When Jacob says, we will be watching you to Bella, what he means is that they will be looking out for her and watch her always from the distance, without intruding or interfering in her life to ensure that she is doing well and is out of harm's way! It is a sentence commonly used to reassure the ones you love and care about to let them know that they are not alone even if you cannot be beside their sides always, but that you will be there for them should anything happen to threaten their safety.

Hi della happy I think there are two interpretations for this sentence: first, I want to protect you and second one which I clearly don't like is: I want to control you and I'll invade your privacy if that's necessary. It's a little bit creepy that someone will be watchin me.

oh really really thank you,starsailover,i think i got it according to your explainations and the context of this sentence,you have a very precise analysis.the speaker who says this sentence actually have a very close relationship with the listener,and i am sure what he means is that he will be always there right for her and takes action immediately if she is not happy...
Under normal circumstances few people would say so,but the speaker must be the one who cares the other very much and trying to protect the other from being hurt...
