While on journey either by bus, train or flight some co-passenger will be sitting at the side of us. Do you like to talk with him/her or just keep quite with your own thought world. Please share your thoughts..

Hi busybee10, I would like to be alone as I enjoy reading or sleeping or playing games during my journey. It's really awesome in case I come across a person who has endless of nonsense to tell about I had encountered such undesirable people before. Therefore I always avoid to talk with stranger beside me. There is no problem to give her or him a friendly smile but never never to start a conversation Happy posting

Vow - that is really great..Yes playing games is a good time pass during the journey and this also creates good concentration too without any distractions....OK..I really appreciate your thoughts on the topic of having a conversation with a stranger...

Monotonous time riding on the public transport passes pretty fast if I indulge in playing game I did come across someone who borrowed newspaper from me while I's reading. It's okay and I's happy to share it with him. It didn't occur that only after a short white he started nagging about this and that related to what he had read. To avoid the awful booming I took out my device straight away and starting my game playing. Seeing that there was no response for a while he took no pleasure in his chat he left me alone

I rarely talk when I am traveling. I commute daily and I usually use most of it catching up on sleep. I have to be on the road early so I usually take the time to just sleep. On a longer trip, the bus usually have those video films on board. If it is really interesting, I would watch it otherwise I just look on the scenery or sometimes just sleep. I was never comfortable talking to strangers.

OK - it is your personal choice not to talk with and you have well commented that you were never comfortable talking with strangers.Yes, I do follow that as talking to an unknown person is not at all encouraging.

It also depends upon the personality of the person. Most likely an extrovert would talk to a stranger. It is not in the case of an introverted person like me. Sometimes you just need to look at the person to know if they can engage you in a conversation. Most of the time they don't want to be bothered at all.

I do not have much experience in this field because my travels ended a very long time back and during my younger days when i used to travel with my parents. At that time there was never any question of talking to strangers or fellow passengers as i used to leave that part to my parents and busy myself to reading books which i always used to carry with me.Even if i had the chance to travel now, which has become impossible, i would not make the first move and only respond if my fellow passenger starts a conversation.I prefer to remain in my own world and do waht i always have done when travelling, that is reading.

Nice to go through your discussion and also came to know about your past travels.Od course what you say is true.In the past fellow passengers were very co-operative and easy going. Of course in journeys every one have their own style - hence it depends. and I appreciate your thought of responding to the co-passenger if they start the discussion.

I guess it would depend on my mood and the person. I take the bus to work everyday and I usually read a book cause i don't feel like being bothered but sometimes people talk to you anyways by just asking you a question which then turns into a whole conversation and before you know it you're home.

Hi dear.. I have to travel by train 100 + 100 kms daily due to my job but i am not a person who talk much. people know me here that i speak less and stay almost like isolated and want to get busy with study and internet. When i travel, i have my cell phone and i access internet through it and sometimes listen music or read a book. have a nice day.

OK - I have followed what ever you have told..but in case if the journey lasts for about 15 - 20 hours then how are you going to sit quiet. At least you would not like to get introduced...?? Feeling shy may not work at places you have to eradicate that.. to face the society boldly.

Usually I don't like to talk specially to strangers. I like it more because I can think more of what to do or what I have done in the past. It's like a reflecting time with my self. Also when I'm tired I just like to sleep while travelling.

That is right - but if the journey is say around 7 to 8 hours, will it not be a bored one but how long you will keep quiet.Ok,you can sleep for an hour or two but how will the rest of the time pass... ]

I am a chatterbox anywhere I go, yes I admit it. am not shy the least bit. I find I can get just about anyone to join in on conversations. I do however know when not to cross boundaries. So while in comfort most know me as being the one to get things going.
