Here is today's Devotion and Scripture - Comments are welcomed! He remembered us when we were in trouble. His love continues forever.(Psalm 136:23) God chose to reveal himself through a human body. So people came to him. My, how they came to him! They came at night; they touched him as he walked down the street; they followed him around the sea; they invited him into their homes and placed their children at his feet. Why? Because he refused to be a statue in a cathedral or a priest in an elevated pulpit. He chose instead to be a touchable, approachable, reachable Jesus. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jeremiah 9:23-24- This is what the Lord says: Don't let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, has spoken! People tend to admire four qualities in others: human wisdom, power (strength), Kindness, and riches. But God puts a higher priority on knowing him personally and living a life that reflects his justice and righteousness. What do you want people to admire most about you?

I have found in life, that human admiration is fickle. What they value in you one day, the next day they are opposing you on it. I would hope that in my heart of hearts, I would seek only God's approval. And when I find myself expecting praise or a pat on the back, I confess this to HIM and ask that HE strengthen me in HIS power to seek only HIS will. I am human. I fail. I know the extent of that failure within myself.

I don't think I want them to admire me necessarily for anything. But I am happy if someone notices my faith because it is a testimony to God. It would be even better if they ask me about it so I could share my faith with them!
