I had one doctor mention it to me asking me if I had been diagnosed. Once I told him no he dropped the subject. He wasn't too interested in actually treating me for anything. I don't know for sure if I have it but everything I've read about it makes me believe i do. I just don't have the insurance or money to find out. Basically I have to use over the counter meds for it and just try to manage in the mean time.

It is an expensive diagnosis for sure! It's basically a multitude of testing to eliminate everything else and it's so hard to find a good fibro doctor.
I hope you can get insurance and a good Doctor soon. It's hard to manage even with a doc much less on your own.
You're in my prayers!

Thanks I appreciate it. Right now it isn't something that will be happening any time soon but such is life.

Have you checked into your states' free medical care?
Most states have free medical(I'm not talking about the state medical that comes with food stamps or disability)
Input "Free medical care/your state" into your browser.
You should come up with a list of places that can help.
I know it stinks to have to ask for help, but fibro just gets worse over time. Especially with no medical care at all. I can help you research it if you'd like.
I know how painful it gets and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!

It is very difficult to find a doctor in the US who specializes in this disease.
I pray that your' friends treatment relieves the pain and fatigue!

This is weird, I JUST asked pretty much the same question. My doctor just told me he thinks that I may have it. I am scared. I am just achy now, but I understand it gets worse.

Mine hit me hard after the birth of our third child. It has gotten worse, but I can now accuratly predict weather changes coming 2 to 3 days in advance.
I wish there was a cure!

Found out fibro was my problem earlier this year. This was after complaining about all over pain and being tired all the time for the last 3 years.
As far as treatments, most of my doctors don't like to use medicines to treat it. I did insist on medication for days when the pain is too much to deal with. I use a lot of heating pads, water exercise, massage therapy and jacuzzi baths.

Have any of your' Docs suggested this new IV therapy that was designed for RA?
Mine has suggested it, but if we want to have a baby, it causes birth defects.
Do you see a pain management doc?
