Match fixing dates back to quite a few years agao and all though it has not been taken seriously in the past the present has woken up to this disturbing fact. The big question we need to ask ourselfs is whether we are just a bunch of fools watching somethin that has already been decided before it even started or whether we are watching a guenine competitive match between two opponents. How should the palyers be punished in case they are found guilty of match fixing........?????

They should be banned from playing cricket no matter how good he is in the game, he should be punished badly. This is a question of Country's repute & how can one be so cheap & dishonest to their own country?

You are right savio, match fixing is a worst type of cancer cricket is infested with. as you rightly pointed out it makes fool of the cricket lovers like us who back our teams and heroes like nobody else. Ever since the two Australian players Shane Warn and Mark Waugh agreed to pass on the information regarding weather and ground conditions to a cricket bookie for the cash in return the ugly truth of match fixing surfaced up. Then after whistle blowers like Rasid Latif and Manoj Prabhakar exposed the betting scandals and match fixing in cricket by Pakistani and Indian cricketers. The biggest match fixing event took place during south African tour Of India in '99-2000 under the captainship of Hansie Cronje, where the involvement of number of players was proved and were punished by respective cricket boards. Despite the punishment to the involved cricketers, match fixing is still rampant in cricket and I.C.c. need to come out with even stronger measures to root out this ugly face of cricket.
