I really wanna enjoy my life. However, everytime I have already one problem, another one arises. In addition to this, I am also surrounded by pessimistic people. How do I enjoy life with problems like these?

At 36 weeks pregnancy I found out my son has spina bifida and hydrocephalus. The next few weeks were very stressful. I went to the fetal medicine unit and had another scan, looked around the special care baby unit and saw the maternity unit. I had a difficult time making people understand I still wanted my home birth. It was like a bomb ticking away imagining when my labor would start. At 39 weeks pregnancy I went into labor at three in the morning. I called the hospital to ask for a midwife. Two midwifes came and ten minutes later I sat up and my disabled son came out. I didn't need to do any pushing. So it was a quick and easy labor. Wow! He went off to hospital in an ambulance. He had two operations during the first three weeks of his life. Two times helped me during that very challenging time. The first was lunch time the day I went to see the fetal medicine expert. I went to see a pictureque looking bridge. One Saturday whilst my disabled son was in the special care baby unit I went all the way to the Dorset Coast where I went to a subtropical garden in a village. Now my disabled son is a day away from being 4 years old. His legs are in plaster for physio reasons. Traveling overseas helps me enjoy my life. Earlier this year I took my disabled son and my daughter with me to Colombia.

All people have problems and yet there are others who can still enjoy life. I think it's just a matter of how you deal with them. Manage your time and set up a time for you to have fun. Life isn't much if you're all about your problems.

I think distraction; distract yourself by doing things you never picture yourself doing. Trust me this works; one time I had a pretty hard time in the summer. So, my friends got me a ticket to Six Flags and decided to distract me the whole day by making ride roller-coasters (which I've never ridden or ever dreamed of riding) and that whole day I forgot about the problems that I had to deal with. I think the best way to deal with a problem is by hanging out with those that make you feel good about yourself. Not the people that are negative or make you feel bad about yourself. Just try doing something that will make you laugh and smile and have you forgetting the issues that you are dealing with.
