The Pacquiao versus Mosley fight - A huge disappointment

I watched the Pacquiao versus Mosley fight live on pay per view at Oyster Boy on May 7, 2011. I was so excited because it was the first time I'd watch a Pacquiao fight live. The Philippines is dominated by a population of Pac Fans and although I am one, I'm not yet at Dave's (my bassist) level. I had watched Mosley's past fights and seen how he castigated every one of his foes. I thought to myself "Finally, a fight worth watching!" I could feel the electricity in the air as we waited for the match to start. The bell rang and the fight started. The first round had us all on the edge of our seats. Both pugilists were testing each other's skills. Pacman showed he was the aggressor during this round. The second round continued with Pacquiao trying to break down Mosley's spirit, but the American prevailed. It was not until the third round, when Pacquiao planted a solid punch to Mosley's jaw which brought Sugar Shane crashing down that I became more confident that the smaller Pacquiao would come out the winner. Round 4 to 9 were uneventful with Mosley trying to parry each blow as best as he could. I don't know what prompted Mosley to shove Pacquiao in the 10th round which angered my countryman. It was ruled as a knock down by the referee which angered Pacman. Right there and then, we all knew Mosley was going to lose. And just as we predicted, after the 12th round, Pacquiao won. We were happy he won. Disappointed that his opponent was not what he was hyped up to be. The so called fight of the century between 2 worthy opponents ended up with fans leaving before the winner's name was called out. Pacquiao and Mosley was supposed to be an exciting match, instead it was deemed as anti-climactic

I am not a fan of boxing. I wanted to watch the fight but when I received text messages form my friends telling that Pacman won, I lost the interest to wtch the show.

aw... well... good thing Pacquiao won but I still would've wanted to see a "real" match. Mosley was just holding on for dear life during that bout. I guess you saved yourself the time and effort to watch what was a sure win for Pacquiao and the Philippines

I actually watched but only the singing of our national anthem. I got curious how Charice would sing it cause many singers had criticisms from people on the way it is sang.

I just can't imagine Mosley fought that way. He looks tough and bigger than Pacquiao and yet he seems to have been magic spelled. Nice thing is that they have showed what Boxing Sports is all about. Another good scene is that when Mosley congratulate Pacquiao.

i wonder, will we ever see a Pacman - Gayweather fight in this lifetime? maybe Gayweather's waiting Pacman out until he gets crippled to give him a lot of advantage hehehe The son of a boxing great, shrinking in fear... sheesh

at 37, obviously he's at the butt end of his career. The Pacman was just too tough for him.. Mosley has a good heart and he's not like the Gayweather. He knows how to concede defeat.

I'm just not a fan of mosley, to be honest he is god awful as middleweight's go, although the miguel cotto vs Pacquiao was really good match and tested both fighters.
