Navigating Mylot

I usually start Mylot when I come in at the office. My work doesn't come in until after lunch, so I have all the time in the morning to be at Mylot.
I type Mylot to my browser and wait for a few seconds before I am directed to the Mylot page where I type my username and password. I'll wait for another few seconds before the now so familiar welcome note from Mylot appears. I click on the X mark and I am now directed to the Mylot home page.
What do you usually do at this point?
*I usually check my earnings the previous day. It always gives me great motivation to start my day at Mylot.
*Then I check any pending friend request. Which is another reason that makes me smile each day, because I have another new friend.
*Then I check on those who responded to my discussions if ever I started one for the week, if not I just start to participate in interesting discussions.

Do you use the home page, or do you just open your personal email and check on your notifications? [/b]

Routinely I open my email first and type in the New Comment search feature in my emails. As I scroll through each and notice anything I need to come back to and apply yet another comment to then I open another browser and begin to comment back to those. After doing so I head over to my PMs because there is not a day that it is empty. lol, and I like that.
From there I do go back to my emails simultaneously and response to friends discussions first. I then work my way to the tabs to see if there is anything else of interest that I can apply a response to. I do don't always check the homepage but may do so at least once a day.

Forgot to mention that I do not usually check my earnings page. I just look at the total amount on the top of the page and actually sometimes I wish it was not there, only because I like the added surprise and find it as a bonus. lol

Same with me, I don't look at earnings page often, Looking at the earnings on the top of the page is usually enough for me.
However, when their is an unusual increase, I usually check to look where it came from. It happens sometimes when I miss the pop-up rewards from the search

lol shattered wish I was lucky with the search and have only once received a reward. What is funny is that I normally do not check the earnings unless I enter a discussion about it like I just did and head over to see what it was. lol

That's really cool. I would log on and check my email first. I read the responses more or less and get back to them. It's been awhile since I've created any discussions , but I've created 2 as of recent , so it just makes sense to get back and check what's the answers and reply/comment accordingly. I'm a bit lagging in this , so my norm is to check out what friends discussions are and go accordingly. I normally give myself around 1 hour if time permits.

Yeah, I saw your discussion and made it to the highest rated discussion for the day. That is really cool!
It is sometimes hard to keep up with the responses to our discussions. So I don't comment back to them all at once. When my brain cells aren't working to give good comments, I take a breather and respond to interesting discussions here. Then I go back commenting again. I hope you can come up with more discussions for us to participate in Zed!

I go by my myLot notifications!
Instead of using the earnings to motivate me, I use the number of unopened notifications in my inbox as motivation. I try to bring it to a more manageable number.
For me, the earning is just a bonus.

HI sweet pea: I think that's a funny question. First of all I watch the news to see if there's something interesting happenning outside. I love that we can read the news here. Then I see if there are some new responses to my own discussions. If that's the case I answer them. Then I watch to my friend's discussions and I participate on the ones that I like. Finally, if I have enough time I look for the discussions of other members and in case I see a hot discussion or one that I like I take a look at it and make my own contribution.

I don't see the news when I logged in to my account.
I guess I need to reset it to default layout?
I think it is great to read the news so we get informed about what is going on around us.

1. I check my email, if there are responses/comments to discussions I've started or responses I made than I answer them first. Well that is when I have the time to start discussions or reply to my friends discussions!
2. I then look for discussions started by my friends (still in my email) and respond to those that interest me.
Absent 1 and 2, I just open mylot and look for interesting topics and read the headlines as well.
Before, in-between and after all these, I use the search bar when I'm researching for something online.

I sometimes respond to year old discussions as well and you are right it feels good to receive an answer from it.
I'm not as organized as you are, well I try to be organized and disciplined and I am making progress but in mylot I just reply/respond/comment to whatever interests me. Especially now that I am spending less and less time here because of work.

It is usually discussions for me in the morning and comments in the afternoon, unless I started a discussion which I reply as soon as possible.
Sometimes, when I don't find any interesting discussions I try to look at other Mylotter's profile and try to answer some of their interesting discussions. That's why most often I would usually see my self answering discussions from over years back. And find it really nice when they still reply back to you.

I do check my earnings too.
It is a good way to motivate myself to participate more in Mylot.

hi sweet pea love that user name. I usually work out of my email notifications but lately I have got so m any that i work both in friends started and through my email thunder bird mozilla too. I do not know
if I will ever get caught up but sure am trying to get there.lollI
am retired so have so much advantage over all the rest of you asmy times is pretty much my own herein this depressing retirement center. mylot saves me from going bananas here as I have someplace to go besides earning at least half of my cable bill. I used to make enough to pay all of it bu t that was when I was in my own apartment and could stay up
up late if need be and sleep later here my time is regimented like in the army. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. 6 am is much too early as I am not a morning person and breakfast at 7 is too too early too.

I am sure you got a lot to work on your notifications specially when you had to go one by one to those who responded to your discussions.
I am not an early person too! I really dread it when it is so nice to snuggle in bed then suddenly the alarm clock goes off. If only I can get to bed a little longer but I got work which pays the bills.
I'm glad Mylot keeps you company in your retirement. It sure is with me too whenever I feel sleepy at work. It is like my cup of coffee.

I do not have any specific pattern anywhere while responding to MyLot discussions. I normally log in every few hours, find discussions from my friends first to respond to... And then (as I do not go beyond 10/12 on a normal day) if there are others that can be accomodated, I try to respond them.
But unfortunately, I am not feeling that comfortable when responding to unknown faces these few past days... so I amconfining myself to only those lotters whom I know and we have been friends for a while...
No, please dont get me wrong. This is just a temporary phase and as I am unwell, maybe that I am missing out on that enthu to respond and meet new lotters... Hope to get well and back in shape soon

I have 3 sites that I log in to daily for online earning. i open mturk first to see if there are some good and easy hits, then minute workers to see if anyone responded to my threads and if my payment has grown then i go to mylot. and once I log in here, im usually logged in until the end of the day. not necessarily responding but I just keep it on so i can browse once in a while when i get bored doing other stuff

Sometimes if I don't find any interesting topic I try to search for a topic I am interested in on the search bar. And it would give me a list and I try to respond to them even if they are discussions started 5 years ago.

Hi there sweet_pea!!!
Whenever I visit mylot the first thing that I do is to visit my interests category and decide what to choose then browse thought recent posts to know if there is something that will attract my attention.
I don't usually create my own topic here in mylot coz I feel lazy to think of it.And besides I can't really focus or there is nothing interesting to posts so what I am doing is just to respond to others.

Well some enjoy starting their discussions while most of us tend to just respond to them. I only come up with a discussion once a week. I used to come up with more than that before, but I prefer to respond to discussions now.
I think starting with your interest is a good way to find topics that you can share your opinions about. The more knowledge and experience you have about a topic the more you can be helpful to others.

I made a bookmark for mylot. Of course it's the first tab there and my discussions started as the default address so I can see at once when there's another response. Then what I open next is facebook then yahoomail. Then the rest, any kind of site.
