watch out! mom has a new book.

My kids hate it when I get a new book. Especially when it is one I have waited to come out. I guess I do spend a little more time reading than cooking or cleaning but for the most part I wait until after dinner and dishes. When I read, I can tune out just about anything. The room can have people and dogs running around, the TV can be on, and I can just read. The kids do like to ask me questions when I am reading because I just say the "um Huh" thing and then they think they get what they want. I love my books and love to read.

lol... I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I mean... I think it's better to ignore people for a good book than it is to ignore people for the internet or something. Naturally, you shouldn't ignore people or responsibility all the time in any case, but I'm also a great lover of books. Usually I only nix sleep for the sake of reading. You should really get your kids into reading, then they'd understand.

Mom used to be like that and both of my daughters are. I enjoy reading and read a lot, but it has to be a very good book to keep me so deep in it that I don't see or hear things around me. Still, I'd rather read than watch TV any day.

hey good for you. with you reading maybe they will start reading and enjoy it too. kids learn by example! as for reading, i am like that too! especially when the book is really good! i visit the library once a week so i always have books to read!
