Is it just me, or does Bristol Palin look like Snooki after she had a "corrective jaw surgery"? Well, she says she had it not because of beauty reasons but because she had been advised by her doctor when she was younger that she'd eventually have to undergo corrective jaw surgery. Would you do it if that were you? What would be your reasons to undergo plastic surgery?

If I had the money and it is for health reasons, then I'd surely undergo corrective surgery. I've read somewhere that improper jaw formation can result in some adverse things the least of which is speech impediment, the worst I think is improper food intake or something that can result in undernourishment. But I also wouldn't mind having plastic surgery for aesthetic reasons. I like looking good. Besides, when you look good, you feel positive in life.

Yes, I think that was Bristol's problem. She had improper jaw formation. You're brave to want to go under the knife. I would not consider it because one of the reasons is I'm scared.

I don't really have anything to change in my face- maybe do something to clear up my acne though- is that called corrective surgery too? I don't really support people who do corrective surgery just because they like to- since most of the time it makes their face worse.

I don't think clearing up your acne would need corrective surgery. Unless your skin is damaged beyond repair or something like that? Well, there are also those that look better after a cosmetic surgery, but, after several years, it wouldn't look as good.

When I was just 10 years old, it was recommended that I have plastic surgery to try to repair a scar that I have on my ankle as a result of an accident that I was involved in when I was eight years old. My parents decided against it for me and because of that, I don't think that there is any reason that I would ever have plastic surgery because I believe it is unnecessary medical intervention. As far as my children go, the only reason that I would use plastic surgery is if they had some sort of a disfiguring abnormality.

I agree. If it can be helped, I would avoid plastic surgery, too. Unless it's something really needed, like a disfiguring abnormality, as you say. But, other than that, I don't think there's a need really.

Hi gloryacam Personally unless it is a health need for me I would not undergo any type of plastic surgery. Maybe it is easy for me to say because I don believe I have anything I would like to enhance. If I had some type of malformations and or fetal malformation and was younger, maybe but not until I sought out enough information as to whether it is completely safe and or if the results would be beneficial. Doing so simply for beauty for me, would be out of the question, beside a lot of them do not come out favorable and are irreversible.

I agree with you, HWG. If it's simply for beauty's sake, I'd rather not. We are all imperfect in a way, and that was what we were designed to be. And, it's just a matter of acceptance of that fact. Sometimes, those who feel they need to "repair" the outside, just have to look to the inside and see the real reason why they need to do those things. Well, that's just my opinion. But, if it is due to a health reason, and a life threatening one at that, I might consider it, too.

For me, i don't like plastic surgeries. Aside from the risk of having complications later, the outcome, will not be the real you anymore. However, when a plastic surgery is really needed for health reasons, then why not. Maybe i can go for those some enhancements that does not involve surgery.

I agree with you. I mean, like Lady Gaga says, "I was born this way." I wouldn't have it any other way. Enhancements like make up, etc., yes, but plastic surgery, no. I would opt for non-surgical remedies for health problems, too.

Only I would have any kind of Surgery Unless Needed. Plastic would be the Last Thing I would do to Myself unless I needed it Badly. I Think Women have the Surgery for the Wrong Reasons these Days. When it is not Needed. But that is only my Opinion

Yes, a lot of women nowadays undergo plastic surgery to change how they look. Most of the time, I, too, think that those are not necessary. But, as they say, each to his own. Thanks.
