I admit that I have been missing to tune in to ANC, the cable news channel of ABS- CBN. The channel has been down in my cable selection channel as it became impossible to see beyond the grainy picture on the television screen. I have been a fan of the channel since the day I discovered it. The channel and its people have been very helpful in terms of commentary, explaining and pointing out the big picture in the various political controversies and scandals that has seen this land. Now, there is another news cable channel from the rival network, GMA. The new news channel boasts that it is the news channel for the 'masa', unlike ANC who is said to cater to the middle class and up due to its consistent use of English in its programs. However, I find it funny that the GMA news channel also airs lifestyle and entertainment programs in its line-up. And the channel also have off-air hours, despite the nature of news channels to be on air for 24 hours. What's your preferred news channel? ANC or GMA news channel?

I used to watch "The Big picture" and "Dateline Philippines" a year ago during the pre-election period with Mr.Ricky Carandang as host but since then I'm not able to watch the show again because we switched to another cable network. Yes, I think ANC channel is obviously not " Maka-masa" because of its all-English format unlike that of GMA's News TV which I find more entertaining because it has a much broader format, What annoys me is that they constantly play programs that are outdated anymore. But I have to choose no one between the two because they're both great channels..ANC is not available in our current cable network anyway.

When we do not have cable TV yet, I used to watch GMA more than ABS-CBN due to their more objective reporting. Sometimes, the bias of ABS-CBN is too much it's simply outrageously stupid not to notice it. When we got cable TV, I preferred watching RT (Russian Today/RT Novosti) more than any news channel because of their fresh, alternative take on world events (really, I mean world events, not Sophie Shevardnadze!), which is becoming more and more manipulated by US and other NATO countries. As a political science graduate, I know what I am saying. But then, they recently removed it in their programming. So I guess I understand your feeling about ANC..... I really miss RT......!

Hello Jeannee, I do watch ANC but i prefer more on the Global Media Arts News and Channels because i believe for them to be more legitimate in their news coverage.fortunately, i don't miss ANC nor ABS CBN for that matter because i still remember their BIAS activities during 2010 elections.therefore, am more of a GMA watcher or viewer even though i also watch ANC. the only interested thing i watch in ANC are the news.

When we didn't have cable TV yet, I prefer watching GMA. They're more objective in their news reporting compared to ABS-CBN's ANC. Sometimes their bias is so blatant it is outrageously stupid not to notice it. When we got cable TV, I preferred watching RT (Russian Today/RT Novosti) more than any other news channel, due to their fresh, alternative view on world events (really, I mean world events, not Sophie Shevardnadze!), which is becoming more and more dominated and controlled by US and NATO propaganda. As a political science graduate, I know what I am saying. Sadly, the cable provider removed the station, and I am hoping they bring it back. So I guess I understand your feelings about ANC.... I miss RT...
