...what do you think of absentee lawmakers?

A while ago, a news program in my country reported its annual report on lawmakers that are either the top ten richest and the lawmakers that are frequently absent. Personally, I have a beef with these lawmakers. Isn't actually making law and representing their constituents in these chambers their primary job description? Why should they excuse themselves in the process of making or modifying laws that will benefit a nation or a people? They were elected by the people to work for them, not to skip sessions and leave as they see fit. What is your reactions or opinions to these lawmakers?

these lawmakers have a shallow belief in their position. they were just there for fame and power, but are not really aware of their duty.
these lawmakers should have never been elected in the first place. sad to say, these same people shall win again in the succeeding elections. sigh.
if we notice underperformers, they should be warned, then suspended, then terminated. a government office is a job, too. so they should be sanctioned as regular employees as well.
