My husband and me are planning to move from Tennessee to Florida, we are checking in Orlando or Tampa. Since I moved here from my native Caribbean country, I am just suffering a lot of asthma attacks and allergies specially from the Fall to Spring time, it is killing me. I am thinking that maybe a place in Florida close to the ocean will help me. Also, I don't want any surprises like alligators, crocodiles, snakes or any kind of these animals near to my house, so please, any suggestions or help about the good places in Florida to live will be highly appreciated.

Yeah I agree. You don't want to live in orlando or fort lauderdale because it's way too busy unless you like to party alot (:

i hear the humidity is really brutal in Florida. i knew someone who lived there for a while (she moved down there from Canada and then moved back again because of the summers!) The humidity will make your asthma way worse! (we have short summers but we get a lot of humidity here too where i am and it really bothers my asthma, so i have to be in air conditioning all of the time.)

My native country is very humid too and I don't have any asthma problems there until I moved to TN. So, I think that my asthma triggers are more about the pollen and the cold weather. With my tropical heritage, the hot summers are my daily bread too. Anyway, thanks for your comments.

http://www.webmd.com/asthma/features/asthma-and-cities-which-cities-ran-best According to the list Cape Coral Florida is where you should go. They also list Palm Bay and Daytona Beach. However if you don't want to deal with crazy animals popping up in your house Florida is not for you. One of my coworkers that lives in Florida had a scorpion in her shoe this past winter. I'm always hearing about some huge snake or crocodile showing up in someones house.

We vacation religiously in Destin Florida and we also plan on moving there in the future. The goods thing is it still get relatively cool there in the winter so there is not a lot of alligators snakes and things that you would find more south in Florida. It is in the panhandle in between Pensacola and Panama City. We found it on accident when I had to cancel our honeymoon to Mexico last minute and ended up in Destin lol. Beautiful white sand beaches and crystal clear water. Just talking about it makes me want to go there !!

I lived in Ft Lauderdale for 6 months. Southern FL is great if you are young. My boyfriend has a second home in Palm Beach. Also a great place. A lot quieter than Ft Lauderdale.
