Kolkota won a crucial match against Pune today. Pune were all out of 118, that's not a big score for Kolkota knight riders. Gambir led from the front scoring a half century not out & good contribution from Tiwary & Yusuf Pathan. Not so good performance from Dada scoring only 18 runs from 22 balls hitting one six. KKR moves up to 3rd position with 16 points after this win & Mumbai Indians slips down to 4th position in the points table. KKR still got one match in hand against Mumbai Indians. It's a big match. Despite of having some good players in Pune team like Youvraj, Uthappa, Ryder, they are losing too many matches & are at the bottom in the points table. These players are not performing to their ability. Please share your views on it.

ya gautam gambhir once again showed consistency and helped KKR to beat pune. ya it was a disappointing innings from saurav ganguly. I think KKR is now qualified for play off, and next match is against mumbai, so if they won that too then probability of mumbai to be out of this ipl is not far away.

Yes you are right. Kings Punjab are fighting strong to get into playoffs & they've their match against Deccan tomorrow. If they win this match with good run rate & if Mumbai Indians lose their match against KKR, Punjab Kings reach Playoff stage. If Mumbai Indians defeat KKR in sunday's match, then they qualify for playoffs.

PWI played very poor in that day. Their batting was very very poor and was their bowling. They couldn't pile up runs on the score board for defending well. However, the win sailed KKR in the play offs. After KXIP lost to DC, their chances fade way and MI and KKR got a seat each. Dada was the center attraction but he was never in touch as he was out of all sort of cricket which cost him dearly. Had he been in the practice he could have played better. Gambhir gave him two left arm spinners what could be the best Ganguly asked for. Except hitting one straight six over Iqbal he totally flopped. I think this time Pune may consider to retain him for the next edition and Ganguly can show what he is capable of. Good Luck to him and his team for the next time. They finished 2nd last in the table after the rain spoilt their last match against DD which was Ganguly's regular fate in the last three edition. KKR sailed in the top four but Ganguly had to taste the same fortune. Hope he will put some better performance in the next edition and PWI may do better. PWI had really hard time despite having some good players like Uthappa, Yuvraj, Pandey. Smith was injured and left at the dug out most of the season.

Kolkata Knight Riders is one team that has been performing quite well this season and have a great chance to make the playoffs. So not surprisingly, KKR was able to easily defeat the bottom rung Pune Warriors. Knight Riders meant business from the outset: Bowling and fielding well, taking wickets at regular interval and piling pressure on Pune Warriors who then just surrendered tamely. Gauti has led KKR from the front both with the bat and with aggressive captaincy on the field. Knight Riders as a team seems to be gelling really well and performing with right intensity. Also, Pune Warriors lacked purpose, didn't combine at all as a team and their performance was listless. The big names like Jessie Ryder, Robin and Yuvraj only flattered to deceive.

Abou pune: It was same thing happen to the decan charger in the first IPL where all have the boost player in team but they scored last. About the kolkata it good that gambhir lead kolkata to semis but i don't want that to happen as i want to break ego of srk and his selfishness and the greatness he show off himself, think he is prome boss and rest is nothing. It would have been a revenge of DADA and all who love him if kolkata not got the semi birth.

Cricket is a game of luck largely. A player plays well on one day. On another day things do not go well for him and he scores less. We should not suspect players.have a good day

This year's IPL has 10 teams. It is clearly visible that some players playing the IPL do not deserve to be playing. They are not of the calibre of a Gayle, a Sehwag or a Dravid. Yet they are there. When such a thing happens, it is evident that even if players like Uthappa, Yuvraj and several others fail miserably they cannot be sacked because there is no replacement available. Why do you think they need to perform? They are already paid for playing in the tournament. I feel their payment should be performance linked. That will motivate them to play.
