Wisconsin Legislature Passed the Voter ID bill!

Much to the chagrin of the anti Gov. Walker left, the Wisconsin State legislature has passed a bill that will fix most of the problems and "irregularities" that have plagued Wisconsin elections for years. One of the issues in this bill is a requirement for a state issued ID card in order to register and vote. This is important because people have been able to just vote, without any evidence that they are eligible. Of course, I am expecting the left in the state to call upon one of their bought and paid for "judges" to tie this up forever, if they can. I mean, why buy off judges if you're not going to use them, right? The irony of the left's feigned outrage is, voter ID has passed the legislature before... when the Democrats ran both houses... it was vetoed by King Doyle. So the left will whine and cry about "the will of the people", when it's been made pretty clear that the people want this... at least those who don't plan on "vote early vote often" games on election day. We'll see if they bring it to the level of the "budget repair bill" hysteria though.

In Oregon we have that you need to be registered to vote and you need either an SSID if you don't have your State ID yet sol like if your 17 as you can register in Oregon at 17. Otherwise you need to have your State ID or Driver License Number. I don't see a problem with the State making sure you are a citizen of that State and have been in the State for the required amount of time. Which I believe is like a few weeks in most states as far as getting you into the system so that your vote will be counted and that you will get a ballot in the mail is like 21 days before the actual vote takes place is when you need to register.

Wisconsin has been a voter fraud paradise. You can register the day you vote, you only need to live in a precinct 10 days to be able to vote there. You don't need any ID to vote (but you do to register). College kids have gotten away with voting in both their college towns and where they are from for decades. People have shown up to vote, only to find that someone already voted in their names. It's a mess. The provisions in this new, soon to be signed, law will clean up most the problems though.

This is the single most racist bill I've ever heard of. You know full well that anything used to prevent voter fraud, especially verifying a voter's identity, is pure, unadulterated racism by the right. [/sarcasm]

Yes, because every lefty knows that racial minorities aren't capable of getting IDs. lol

I am glad that another state is using the ID method for voting. Now here in Fl we need to do something about the Bullys at the lower income area polling boothes that keep the white folks out. I guess they assume that most of the whites are tea party people or right wing or someting. The last several elections I have voted early so that I could vote at the police station where the voter's registration is. It is not safe to go to the polling booths, not to mention they lock arms and just won't let you in. The polling stations are run by the elderly and they are too afraid to do anything and just keep the doors closed. I think this is reverse something or other Hmmm....

I was given a card when I registered to vote. Seems simple to me.

Yes, simple, but apparently too much to ask for many democrats here. They say this will "disenfranchise" the poor. Have there been any complaints of being disenfranchised where you live?
