Amit Misra recorded a hat-trick in an easy win for Deccan Chargers against Kings Eleven Punjab played at Dharamsala to day. Put into bat by KXIP skipper Gilchrist after winning the toss, D.C. scored an imposing 198 in alloted 20 overs thanks to Shikhar Dhavan and Ravi Teja who scored 95 of 57 and 60 of 41 respectively. In reply KXIP could not sustain the pressure of scoring above 9.9 runs an over and lost the wickets at regular interval. only skipper Gilchrist played an innings of substance, 51 of just 37 balls second highest being 13.

Yes, the KXIP paid the price of their poor fielding. So many chances and they let them go as they wished. Dropping too many catches will never let you win a match. The DC openers were lucky and Dhawan was unlucky for not getting his century. Whatever, the pitch became too slow for stroke playing and the failure of Marsh, Valthaty cost them and even Gilchrist's little effort was much less than enough. Amit Mishra registered his second hat trick which is a rare feat. Had KXIP won the match they might have booked a berth for the play offs if they had luck with them. However, they held their head high and finish their campaign at the fifth spot and Adam's innings in the last match was one of the best in this edition of IPL

KXIP needed to win this game at any cost and this pressure just tore them apart. They seemed to be in too much pressure to win this game, on thew other hand the DC were just enjoying the game and spoiling the party of KXIP. Last few games have been turn around in IPL and this was also one of them as KXIP was on a roll in last 2-3 games. Gilly and Marsh were just going great till today when everything fell apart. The pressure just did them in.

Kings Punjab are out of the tournament now, they tried very hard to qualify for playoffs but unfortunately they couldn't. Shikhar Dhawan was fantastic in today's match scoring 95 runs out of 57 balls & good support from Ravi Teja. Amit Mishra is the hero in bowling department recorded hat-trick for the second time in IPL took 4 wickets in 4 overs giving away only 9 runs with one maiden. Excellent bowling figures for Mishra. Deccan Chargers leave the tournament with a good win in their last match ruining the hopes of Punjab kings entering into playoff stage.
