Earlier when i was a school kid, i used to write many silly poems. But even though it was silly, it really helped me to express my emotions and i was very relaxed and happy. Now on the other hand, i cant even think of some good lines. I hope i get enough time and creativity to write something. At least in future.

I love read and write poetry. I always have a bag with me, and things that never fail are: a book of poetry and a notebook with a pen. I like write on trains, and I feel my hands tingle especially when I see a lot of people who I can watch silently. One day I wrote a poetry about driving. I had an appointment that i could not give up and i had many verses in the head. And if references the creative moment, you love most of the things you think at the time. So I did the folly to drive and write.

Well, but I write in Italian and not in English. I do not speack english very well, i could never write a poetry in english. You can read Italian? If you want I can send you the link of my blog where I published many of my poetries. You can translate with a translator, but the result is terrible! :)

I usually prefer to read poetry. I have written some poetry, when I was in the mood for it, but it's certainly been a while since I've written any poetry. I usually prefer to read poetry as opposed to write it.

I dont write but i most probably like reading poetry.. not much but at times when i come across a poetry section. I like reading poetry. Poetry is such a wonderful format of words written which can inspire somebody can bring emotions tears it is like a song. In our school days we used to have this lots of poetry's for studies at that time we used to take that as just a studying material but later I realized its value. Poe-tries or Shakespeare have been lot of meaning to me. I like reading his poetry s he is such a wonderful poets.

I like writing poetry and in fact I have just created a CD with background pictures of my own garden. I suddenly get into the writing mood and I have to grab that moment and go about composing something. Here's one: THE YOUNG OF TODAY I see them rushing everywhere, For those around, they don’t care Going past with a ‘Hi’ and ‘Bye’ ‘Have no time’ they say with a sigh! They run to catch a bus or a train In the slush and dirt of the pouring rain Their job’s at stake they seem to say This is their life from day to day. With one hand glued to the telephone They wait for the sound of the musical tone Chatting away not a moment to spare Looking neither here nor there. Their thoughts are scattered everywhere The kids at school, with none to care What about food their thoughts go there The cleaning routine there’s none to share Throwing their hands at times in despair Our life they say is beyond repair The choices are several where could they go They have to rush they cant go slow Yet they have a smile on their lips They go about, swinging their hips Their popular slogan, ‘leave us alone’ It is our business you mind your own’

Many many years ago, I have passion on poetry, especially, I have lots of interest in Chinese ancient poetry. But now, life is full of trivial stuff, and the important is that, passion has gone.

Hello, Whispers, and welcome to MyLot. I love to read poetry, but I need to be in the mood to appreciate it. The same goes for writing. I do write poetry, but I can't just decide I'm going to sit down and write a poem. There has to be a spark to get the creativity going.

Thank you for the nice welcome.I agree with you about teh spark.I need to feel what I write.I can not set down and write just words on a paper and turn them into poetry. It has to come from that deep place inside my soul.

Truthfully, I used to hate poetry, but after I signed up with a writing website a few years ago and began to read lots and lots of poetry, it kind of grew on me. ~L~ Now I enjoy reading it, but a poet I am not. If, on the rare occasion, I do try to write something it's normally humorous. Come to think of it, I don't believe I've done a serious poem. Maybe one of these days I'll give it a shot. ;)

I read and write poetry but the thing about the poetry I write is that no one ever sees it because I am too scared to show others my work.
