It seemed like there is no more designed for TV anime

I think from 70's to 90's most anime are written directly for television but things kinda changed nowadays, I noticed most anime now are adaptations of Manga, video games and visual novels. Why do you think Animation studios in japan now prefers to adopt stories instead of making originals for TV. I know around late 70's the anime adaptations of mangas started and around 90's anime adaptations of video games started. Why do you think Anime studios were less inspired now that they prefer making adaptations than conceptualize a new show?

Well, it is simple. It is "faster" to create content when you already have a back story ready from start to finish. This is mostly why most anime now are adaptations of what is currently available (and popular). Of course it is better if the show was fully conceptualized from the start, but that will take a lot of time in my opinion. And those popular stuff really draws in instant crowds to watch shows that are derived from them. Again, at least that's what I think. =)

Haha. Yeah. True. That made me think if creating your own material is "cheaper" than buying licenses and rights. But I guess the return from the "instant" fan base will quickly cover the cost made to purchase those legal stuff. By the looks of it, I think it is the trend now. For many anime we see now are based from something else. Oh well, at least most of them are great adaptations.

I wonder if I will still see some original straight to television type of anime You are right, seem to be more practical to adopt something that already Have a following in fan base. Though for sure they will he spend more money for her License and rights.

What do you think of the anime industry meeting Anime adaptations of American cartoons. It's not becoming a trend.

That's really true. The most recent original anime I've watched recently was Ghost Hound (it was shown a few years ago). Once in a while, original anime is still being produced. For this year, there's an anime called C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control. It's still showing and I think it's pretty interesting. Less inspiration may be one reason. Another reason may be because of demand. Many fans of popular manga/video games/visual novels want to see the animated version.

I have a couple more in my mind right now. - Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 (it's shown 2 years ago and it was meant to educate the public what to do in an earthquake as since 2 years ago, Japan was already anticipating a big earthquake coming. Sad that it really happened this year...) - Colorful (it's an anime movie and it's by sunrise. I just watched it recently and found it meaningful) I also read manga so I understand how you feel.

Thanks for some suggestions of titles. I kinda miss watching some anime that is original and not adaptations. i do love adaptations but originals have a different style of phase plus they were less predictable for me cos I read manga.

Maybe they are running out of ideas? Or maybe they are banking on the popularity of these well-established mangas/video games/novels. If they make an anime out of it, they sure to have a ready viewers who will surely be curious to see how their favorite mangas/video games/novels will turn out in animation. Animation studios will not have a problem of selling these adaptations, it won't be hard for them to get viewers.

I just realized the fans themselves up certain Manga and video games were making distance to make anime adaptations of their favorite series. Even the live action shows in Japan are actually adaptations of certain Manga Serials

hello cap, It seems like reviving the old songs eh. Maybe those artists find it more practical to adapt the old ones, than creating new ones...just reliving olden times to catch both viewers...old and young.

Most manga adaptations are actually kinda new, If a manga becomes a hit it will have a high chance to become an anime. But 20 years ago some most anime i think are designed straight to Tv as in they don't start as Mangas, they were Tv shows right away. I think most Japanese dramas are manga adaptations too.

I guess its about cost. It cost a lot to make an animated series. Therefore, it is good marketing strategy to develop a popular manga into an animated series or movie, rather than sending all that money for a product which may or may not meet expectations. At least its what I think!

Yeah it could be it, there will be less time on brainstorming if you already have materials ready for adaptation and those materials have a fanbase already.

Dragon Ball Z was the best anime i have watch but honestly i've never read the manga version of it. but am contented with the anime since i was able to completely watched it in my later college days, it made my anime life complete. unfortunately, the recent animes were not as good as it was before. maybe they should recreate DBZ as Yamcha, tien and Krilin as the most powerful ones against the saiya jins

I think its only the firsts season of Dragonball that started as manga, the one where Goku is still a kid, His adult days all started on his adulthood.

Probably because it's more cost effective to just make an anime adaptation from a manga that's already gaining popularity than risk making an anime that might not get much profit out of. I think.

I dont know if its really cost since they will spend much more money with adaptations since they have to pay the publishing house and the writer. I think in the US, Most American cartoons are original concept because they think adaptations are expensive.

your right. Most of the animes i have watched where comes from the mangas. I dont know the reason why they're using manga. Maybe requested by some people who read manga because they inspired them. Maybe good feedbacks from the readers of the manga thats why they make it anime. Thats mt opinion :)

The bad side of manga adaptations is that they were so easy to be spoiled since the people who read the manga knows what will happen next.
