I have seen many of my friends dogs not responding to the command "come".My dog always responded to that command and i didn't ever have to learn him that command. Does your dog come when you call him ?

both of my dogs know the command come. unfortunately more oldest dog is hard of hearing now so she has a hard time listening. my other dog almost always comes when told.

I have two dogs and they don't respond when I say "come". However whenever I call their names, it is automatic that they will approach me. Probably they love to hear their names instead of the word "come".

I do not have to call the dog sometimes, because once they hear the opening of the door, they would immediately wait in front of the door for me. However, when they go out of the house, I would call them by name or just a "PSST" and they would come running back home. Such obedient dogs.

Hi my dog is an American Staffordshire Terrier. I can say it many listens.Because we give it to a special school where he taught almost anything.Currently, my dog ??is brought up by myself.Just how unique is it educated and comes on command also has a ball when he throws.Everything you think. Have a nice day!

Hi Trollingstone, we have a 5 month old staffordshire bull terrier (pure) and we chose not to use the "come" demand but instead we taught her to look at us everytime time we call her name and so instead of the "come" command we would call her name then point at her then point straight to the ground, not with any anger or attitude, but simply as a signal and she comes straight to our feet and sits. This has been very useful when we are out walking her and she comes across other dogs which are less playful than her and as soon as we use the signal she runs back to us. I too, have friends who have used the "come" command and they have difficult in getting their dog to return to them which is why we chose a different method. Dont get me wrong though it did take some practice and some persuation to begin with.
