With half the team not playing the West Indies tour, do you think that Gautam Gambhir and co. have it in them to beat the Windiws in the Windies. Agreed Windies are not the best team in the world. But they are no minnows. And dont forget they are playing at home where they have always been kings.

i would like to say in the test and ODI matches, WI cannot make much impact but they can manage to pull off one or two victories in the test match. The form of C Gayle will be a concern for India. With Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni skipping, it would be really tough if WI somehow play well India may lose the match. However, unless WI play really well they cannot outplay India as they are too good for them. i thought of some rests as the players are playing non stop and still keep on playing. WI is less priority than England, so almost all seniors decided to take rest to play well in the England series.

But they are all well and playing the IPL. Wy not take rest during IPL and play for the country instead?

Yeah, like Sachin and Dhoni others could take rest what eventually players do during Zimbabwe tour. They are playing constantly and hardly got any rest. The year calender is so tight that players may pay its price for not taking rest. WI tour could be won easily if Gayle, Sarwan or some other players turn the tide. There were many youngsters in India who constantly played well in the Ranji, Duleep, Irani and in IPL. They could make it if selectors did think about them. Actually players don't want to loose any chance to earn money what they get after each match and they also feel insecurity as their place may be occupied by some others if they take rest. Sachin, Dhoni, Sehwag's place cannot be taken but Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, and the bowlers' place can be occupied if they rest for long time and others play well. They don't want to make it happen at any cost so they never think about it despite their ability.

Sure, it would be great to test our bench strength. But youngsters should play alongside the experienced players and be groomed. This is not the way, by sending a team which may not win a single match.

Yes, i agree with you the west Indies will be the king in their home town, that too half of the indian players are missing. But Gowtham Gambhir and his team will show their full effort, confidence and ability to win the tournament. Already Gowtham Gambhir has proved that he is a talented captain against england in India. Hope he will do the same against West Indies in their home town.

I am not sure whether Sreesanth would have been a help but one thing is for sure this team is likely to fail in the West Indies.

West Indies team will have an advantage that they are playing in their own field. Indians will have disadvantage that they may not have a few top players. Result - West Indies will win the series.

I would not say that but yes I would rate West Indies to have 75% chances of winning.

Very true. We are going to meet the lion in the lion's den. So what if the lion has become a bit old and weak, it is still a lion.

The Indian Team has got good beanch strength even though they will not have the main guys out there....The IPL has reveled the talent in so many that the selectors have a problem of choice....You also got to keep in mind that the Westindies board is having problems with player contracts....this could mean that WI would not have the best of players and it could be an exciting contest....good luck to team india....
