Getting spammed on Facebook

Have your Facebook account been hacked? I'm surprised to see on my profile pages some links supposedly posted by my friends. I became suspicious about these links, and it's a good thing I checked with my friends first before I clicked on the links. It turned out they did not post these links, and their accounts have been spammed. Is there a way to avoid getting spammed on Facebook?

Hi there bloggermegan!! I have also experienced this kind of thing in facebook when the facebook account of my friend posted so many links in all of her friends wall. Its like an application that my friend used then started to post spam messages on her friends wall. I think she allowed this particular application in facebook to post on her wall. But what this application is to spam other facebook user accounts.I think this application is an automated spammer or something like that.It will promote some products and thing on facebook.

My Facebook account has never been hacked before, but I do know what it feels like to have an account hacked because I did experience this with one of my email accounts, by which the "hacker" used my email account to send unsolicited emails to everyone on my email contact list. This resulted in me closing that email account to avoid further damage. I guess to avoid getting spammed/hacked on Facebook, make sure we only accept friend requests from people we really know. Adding unknown people increases the chance of getting spammed/hacked if one of these people are unscrupulous people up to no good. Also, preferably try not to use applications that are not common or familiar as some of them sometimes tend to store your personal details which can be used to spam the Facebook account. Hope these suggestions help!

Mine has been hacked,I think.I supposedly sent lots of my friends a link on chat which they got a virus from if they opened it.I have heard the best way to keep your account from being hacked is to change your password regularly. Also, always log out!
