Thankfully I have never experienced a sudden loss of net connection during a bid or buy, the site, but the very thought of something like that happening has got me carious. so I thought I'd ask to find out if this has ever happened to anyone Have you ever suddenly lost your internet connection while bidding on ebay or doing other important activities online please share? thanks.

Oh no, well maybe you should get a computer with built in wifi or a connect card instead of using a router.

I use a DSL cable modem, and my laptop uses a wifi card that shares the same signal with my modem, and so far I haven't much difficulty, maybe your problem has something to do with your signal strength.

I don't stay around to participate in the bidding. I set my maximum bid and get out of there. If I win, then that's good. If not, no problem. Just look up another and place another maximum bid.

You know what that's not a bad strategy maybe I'll consider trying that myself Though one of the reasons I tend to stay around during the bidding is to time it just right and get the best rate at the end, but your strategy is probably the best way to avoid net connection problems for those who have them.

it takes a lot longer for my computer to refresh so i have lost bids because of that but i always think that they will be other stuff on ebay so i dont get upset if i lose on an auction.

Hi ya apples99 I don't think I have. When I am bidding on ebay I tend to put the maximum I am prepared to pay in as my highest bid and then leave because I have been caught out before by getting into a bidding war with someone and have ended up paying more for an item than it was really worth hahaha. As for any other stuff, I might have done but it would never have been anything really important haha

This has happened to me and I lost an item that I had been bidding on for a week and a half because of it. I was very annoyed, particularly because the person who eventually "won" the item backed out, so the item went back onto the website and I had to begin bidding on it again. The price that I paid in the end was much higher than the price that I would have paid had my internet not broken down on that one occasion. It's extra annoying because my internet doesn't normally break down, and it chose the most inconvenient time possible to go down on that day.

No..but I would be mad as a hornet if I did. I have lost my connection to sites before. Like this one mainly. I get this long response written out and go to post it...and there it is. The page saying I lost the connection. Oh that burns me up. I need to coppy my responses before I go to post them..but I never remember too.

Yes! This happened to me and I lost the item I was bidding on by 50 cents- and I was willing to bid much, much more than the amount! My internet provider is just ridiculous lately- I am thinking I will have to switch it.
