I think that ususally the two go hand in hand, what is power without money its only force and thats nothing to be proud of... I think that money attracts power, i think that everyone wants to be rich and famous and most people are chasing that dollar wanting to be seen with that fmous person or boss of their company doing faours which they think will benefit themselves in some way!!

It is up to a person on how he/she defines the POWER! because there are gangsters as well that are powerful and to think they don't have any finances at all. Some of them came from the poor community. Too bad there are some people who are just having strength just because of their money. Sometimes that money would buy the justice. As what happened to the Vizconde massacre here in the Philippines the suspects are now free because they are sons of famous and rich people. Many people are being controlled because of money, they are even willing to give up their dignity just because of this material.

I think in the gangster world you need power before money as money with out power backing it up will be preyed upon by all the other gangsters. so to speak, i agree that some people gain power from money but i think that without being able to carry off both traits you cant grow in your life.

i wouldn't give up dignity for money ever. Without your word and your morals your not worth anything to anybody and will always cost yourself never save yourself.

This discussion immediately made me think of the lyrics "money, power, and respect" to a hip hop song, maybe it was Biggie and Little Kim? Anyway, it depends on the person with the money or the power. If a powerful person has no money then people will give it to him because of his power and those people want to see him in a certain light. If person with money has no influence or drive to cultivate himself or become influential then he is just a man with a lot of money. There are instances when the two factors are separate but when they are combined they become interchangeable and a very crucial impact on governments and the world community as a whole.

well maybe my question should be interpreted differently, which is more important to you? What are you more attracted to power or money?? Or that you would rather in your life? Or what do you think comes first? Power or money.

They sort of do go hand in hand as power these days does not stretch very far without money. Sadly that a broke and or poor person is not listened too as much as the one with money is.

That's my point exactly how did these powerful people become so? What makes them powerful is it all the money or something else like musscle or brains? I want the power sooo bad.

Frankly I do not know. And money and power are something that should not joke. Rather I think that people attract them more power because if you're in power you will have money. But many people have money and so rise to power. These things are so difficult to explain. As if power and money are attracted to each other. Interesting discussion.Have a nice day!

There is a scientific concept called "preferential attachment", which suggests that if people already have a lot of something (e.g. money, power, food) they will receive more of it than people who don't already have a lot. It's sometimes called the "rich get richer effect". Therefore, if someone gets powerful enough to start earning a lot of money, this effect dictates that they will keep receiving more money and power, whereas there are many poor and weak people who won't receive any.

It's true and so very unfair. BUT if i use this advice or concept in my own life, i would have to accquire a higher position or better paying job and save as much money as i can. I would also have to thrive in personal successes to encourage power and save extra money to attract more? You atually sound alot smarter than me, so i would appreciate your advice on my response to your comment. Does this idea fit in with what you are saying, or would my balance of poorness and weakness outway the small changes i make in life as most of my family aren't that well off. We are not poor and have a roof over our head and everything we need, to eat heathily and live happy fullfilled lives with hobbies and dreams, but i want more for my son i want to have whatever we desire. I want impossible to be nothing.
