Hello students, teachers, workers and to all mylotters.. I would like to read your views on this matter. Most of the teachers have problem on making their students to remember all the things she/ he taught to them. I ,too, faced a worst scenario about it. I am teaching kids in virtual classroom. Students usually forgot everything I taught them yesterday. I always asked them the next day what did we talk about yesterday, and some answered me with 'I don't know' , 'silence...' , and others gave me some examples which means he could remember some of it but not at all Sigh! I am making my class as fun as possible, if children wanted to have games , then I do gave them games related to our topic but after the day ends it wont be remembered the next day. Please give me more tips on this matter...Thank you mylotters. I'll look forward to discuss it more here through your comments.

I believe virtual classrooms are very interesting place to learn. Only those who are devoid of it can understand their importance. Those who use them on daily basis eventually get disinterested. If your students are not able to recall the last session's discussions; even if you try to make the interaction as fun as possible, then, I guess there is some problem in their routine time table, or they are tired of the previous session and are taking your session lightly. Go through the time table and see if the lecture previous to yours is a hectic on or what. Also try to give examples of daily life, which they can easily remember. Give some simple tasks related to the topics as homework. Giving an overview of what you would be discussing with them in the next few lectures. This will keep their minds binded in the class for a while. And your good habit of making your class as fun as possible will supplement you in it. All the best. :)

Thank you himzey In virtual classroom your students varies in age and level. The cited points are helpful but it's not going to be true to all levels and age. We have to consider first the age of the student and his level. Plus the character learning they are exposed and wanted to. It's not going to be easy at all. Himzey's presented essential points in teaching. We can combine it or make it anew everyday to avoid getting your students bored in the class.

Have your students make notes. It has been proved that people remember twice as much if they have written something down, even if they don't refer to the notes ever again. Good note taking is a very valuable skill and learning to jot down main headings and key words as a matter of habit will make learning very much easier and more effective. Using a pen or pencil and paper is essential. The act of typing notes is not so effective and is much slower (though it is probably better than no notes at all). I don't know how you would monitor note taking in an online situation. That is for you to solve! Don't expect anyone to remember everything but, if someone remembers, say 20% of what you discussed the day before without notes, they should remember perhaps 40% just by writing down headings and key words. Give it a try and come back to say whether it worked!

I have told them to take down notes. As expected , they're not doing it. How did I know? I asked them the next day what they have written in their notes and asked to show it through video camera. Only 2 out of 9 students I have showed their notes. I thought if the student could at least sum up the discussion we had yesterday and could restate few important points that's enough. I am not asking to detail all what I have said because it will be impossible and ineffective strategy.

I expect that, of the 9 students you have, it was the two who took notes who remembered most! Teaching is as much about training in effective studying techniques as about actually giving information and leading discussion. You will have achieved a great deal if you can show them how effective note taking is!

It is really hard to make students remember things especially if don't really want to. What you can do is to try to make them remember facts by using it in a song or in a rap song. Or you can reward them for remembering things.

Incorporating the subjects with music is good especially if your student is inclined with it. We can't only link it to rap but to different music genre is possible it depends on the student's interest. thank you paopaolar!

Dear Baby Incidently 'Baby' is nickname of my daughter she is 46 now. What do you mean by 'virtual class rooms', can you see your students in screen and they see you? Students need personal presense of the teacher.. Thank you so much for sharing Namastey. ^Kalyani^

I want to thank you for actively participating in my discussions. I appreciate it! Virtual Classroom refers to an online education using the internet. Yes we can see each other through video call.My student and I are separated by space and time. I have been teaching three years and it's fun like I am teaching in a classroom setting. I can experience similar problems I had in the classroom setting. Virtual classroom usually conducted in one-on-one class or group class.
