Can technology help save the earth? This is a question posted in my mind after hearing news around the world about natural and artificial calamities that killed a number of people and destroyed a lot of buildings and other facilities which had also caused economic downfall not only in a certain nation but around the world. Nuclear plants destruction, hurricanes, earthquakes, wars and a lot variety of disasters. One time, a thought came into my mind: it seemed that as technology gets on high, risks in living increases too? Some say the disasters are primarily caused by human irresponsible acts. Another thought played in my mind: it seemed that as technology gets into everyone's house so easily, the value systems of human beings gets more different and seemingly unfit to handle high technologies. Lastly, I have been thinking if technology plays a vital role in saving the earth. What do you think? oh, I am also asking myself if the global issues on climate change has something to do with the so-called technology!

I believed there is no technology that save the earth from destruction when the time of the Lord is coming. For example: There are many sophisticated tools of every country to detect storm and other calamities but they never prevent those nor save the devastated areas.

Well I hope it can but the way I see it, it will not.Have you notice that scientist are doing research on outer space to see if there are living things on other planets. They even sent man to the moon to examine it if it's the same like the earth. They din't notice that due to the advancement of technology they are also destroying our only home. When shall we open our eyes? The time is now, lets do something about it before it's too late

Obviously not. Look what happened to japan. They're one of the most advanced country when it comes to technology and yet they were not able to at least predict or lessen the damage of the tsunami that hit them. Only God can save the earth.

The earth has been here for a long time we just a few thousand of years, who needs more saving now? :p the only way how we can be of benifit to the earth herself is when we all work together and join together in energetic frequency so that we are all atuned to each other, all one, all understand of how the body of earth functions, because she is a living being, and if a bug is on your arm you push it away, you are no insect to her but her participators who came to help her grow, she won't push you away, the earth has grown and the plates drifted away long time ago and this has formed what you see now. america, europa, africa, asia etc... she is a beautiful woman, this beloved planet take care for her she is in fact your mother :")

Technology is not able to save the Earth but the maximum extent of a technology is to keep the current situation safe. For example, environmental science and technology is implemented to ensure the Earth is protected from environmental issues but it does not help to recover the Earth sources at all. The best example is the green vehicle energy helps to reduce the petroleum usage on cars but unfortunately it is not able to recover lost petroleums. Earthquakes are natural disaster, not related to environmental factors. Technology protects people from deadly earthquakes. Global climate change is due to excessive human activities. I couldn't imagine how large the carbon dioxide is released to the atmosphere. Lack of forests due to developments (technology applies) can explain this frustrations. In my opinion, technology can either keep the Earth safe or make it even worse than before.

I appreciate the way you care for earth and people living on earth. Everyone loves to live happily but facing the truth about natural calamities and disasters are different. There is no such technology to keep our self safe from volcanoes, earthquakes as such. Technology can control heavy rain and water calamities at some extend but huge Tsunami can also lead to tragic history. Though natural calamities and earth has direct relation, we can not fly in the sky or leave earth to save our life.

Dear friend, May be everything has a limit beyond that it would burst. Technology is not only the one which is creating problems, but there are various other issues too like pollutions, environment disasters, deforestation so on. Technology could do a limited role I feel so. But if we go back to most primitive ways to healing earth I feel it could do better, like planting more trees, not using plastics, keep the environment clean and neat so on. I feel technology have limited role to save earth.
