There's at least one in every family.

I'm talking about a person who is to put it nicely, a bit strange and a bit quirky. They do things that defy a lot of explanation and make us either be amused or roll our eyes. Yet, they would not be them if they were not, so we love it all the same. I'm sure many family members would point to me as that person, but there are some people in my extended family tree that will give me a run for my money. Do you have that one strange person who is really out there on your family tree?

Yep...that's so true. There is one in every family. Growing up....it was my brother. He STILL stands out. He definitly entertains us. At 54, he still has his long hair, talks too much , drinks too much and yet he is funny at the same time. He also has a tendency to be hyper. One day I stopped by his place for a coffee. I left there feeling exhausted just watching him. He had the tv on silent but was watching it with music blaring from his cd player, playing his guitar and singing to another tune, pausing to answer the phone and door.

People like this do stand out from the crowd. Of course, there are a lot of times in life where that is most certainly not the worst thing possible. Standing out from the crowd proves that you are an individual. There are a lot of times where they are amusing. Then they are a level of frustration beyond belief and exhausting like you said. Yet, they would not be the people you know if they were not like that. At least most of the time. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Yes, there IS one in each family. And, if we're lucky, we may have more than one!! I know in my family I've been told that I'm the quirky one who dresses different, bubbles with laughter, and does (and says) funny things. I may be slightly kooky sometimes, but I do have fun, and I don't do harm or hurtful things. I think there's a lot more nuts in my family tree, but each in their own way. I look at it this way, if we were all the same, the family (as well as the world) would be a pretty boring place. One person's 'strange' is another person's 'normal.'

In many families, I really do think that there are more than one. And really when you think about it, to an outside observer, who's not grown accustomed to the quirks, the entire family period just is one. Still, I do agree, it does make life a lot more interesting. Frustrating in many ways yes, but still very interesting. Maybe not the good kind of interesting, but that really is just the thing that makes life grand. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Well something like that may cause people to think like that. After all, it is not what they may be used to. There are times where I have seen family members, that look at me like I've grown two heads by a few of the things that I might wear. Not that what they are wearing is much better but different strokes for different folks. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I think this is true. We have that type of person in our family and 2 who joined our clan. Till now, I still wonder what comes into their minds because I don't know if they're doing it intentionally or is it something that they just do. One of them is just too moody that at one point in time she was both happy and depressed in just over a couple of minutes! I mean, do we need to call the mental institution? But over the years, since nothing changed and she still does the same, I guess that's already a habit or character. Another one would be there as if she knows everything. It's really weird because she has this type of attitude wherein it seems that she knows everything and has studied just about every field of science ever known to man. But if you really listen to the person, you realize they're just blabbing. hehehehe Oh, I almost forgot, I also found that in my co-worker. Who feels that every one is against her when in fact nobody is. I guess the paranoia is just there waiting to explode and kill us all! hahaha.. God forbid. Have a great MyLot experience!

I have known people throughout my life like all three of the circumstances that you have described. The people who are know it alls more famously, as there is one in my family. They claim to be the expert on anything but really they are just trying to pump themselves up, in an attempt to sound important. It would be amusing, if it was not so sad. There are all kinds of people in the world, that are quite strange, to varying degrees. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.
