a rematch (grudge match for dallas) of the NBA finals 6 years ago, but both teams are different from six years past with the exception of their star player and one key player in that series (terry for dallas, haslem for miami). anyways, here's how i look at it. guards: -this will be kidd's awesome defense vs wade's dynamic offense. the other guard are just their backup guard. forwards: -james's unstoppable offense against one of nba's well known stopper in marion. then in the 4 slot, dirk against bosh. both top caliber scorers and decent defenders. maybe they will put james on dirk during crunch time. center: -tyson chandler against who? this guy's an absolute beast down low. i do respect anthony's game but chandler is too hot to handle right now. bench: -terry, barea, peja... mavs bench are deep. heat have haslem, miller, chalmers but still not on terry's level. overall: if dallas can't neutralize james, wade and bosh's numbers, then they are in for another heartbreaking miami finals loss. on paper, dallas has this game. but games are not won on paper, right.

Dallas is a great team, they swept the Defending Champion but in my honest opinion, Miami will take home the crown as the NBA World Champion for 2011. Why?statistics show that Miami's Defensive strategy is one of the most if not the best in NBA today. But as for the Mavs, their offense are great and pure, not only they have Dirk, but they have shooters like Terry and Barrea. Adding to the Mavs dynamic lineup is Jasons Kidd leadership and Chandlers dominating in the inside.

dallas' offense is so fluid that miami's defender will have a hard time. the most common pattern woud be, dirk with a ball, he makes a move then quick double team, gives it to one of his teammates and makes the shot. they keep doing that they will be forced to play one on one during the crucial moments. it will be a long night for the heat unless either one of the big 3 caught fire and burned dallas. weve seen the mavs bounce back from a 15 point deficit so this will be interesting. miami didnt have much of a challenge in the ECF. the bulls are for me the perfect team for miami to beat. imagine a 6'2" rose being guarded by 6'9" james. the rest of the bulls' players were a non-factor in that series with a bit of an excemption of deng. mavz on the other hand got busy with a 6'10" durant, 6'4" westbrook and a deep bench which is a handful for any team to deal with.

yes, now the finals is cast. it is between the dallas mavericks and miami heat. i like your breakdown of players and possible match-ups. well, basketball is a team game and effort. i like the mavs' way of playing basketball by sharing the ball to the open man. the heat looks to me like star players showing their stuff in the game. it's true that the heat is loaded with stars, but the mavs have role players such as barea, peja and kidd.

thanks for the compliment. i find it hard for miami to win this with only the 3 of them involve. mavs is a more complete team and they have veterans running the team, they know what to do when things go wrong and they are playing like theres no tomorrow. they say the hungrier team always win and for me, mavz are the hungrier team. heat won in 2006 because aside from wade, they are loaded with vets like payton, mourning, o'neal and others. they were also the hungrier team that time.

I do wish dallas mavs win but as statistics show, miami heat has a bigger chances of winning the finals. heat is more a defensive team (as show in their series with the chicago bulls), and as people say, defense wins championship. if they continue to show great defensive stuff they may runaway with their second NBA trophy. the heat players are also younger than the mavs, i'm not sure it has an effect with the series but maybe it is. hope this final is as exciting as both the conference finals did. I wish dirk get his first championship but looks like lebron also wanted it as bad as he id. as we Filipinos says, the ball is round, you will never know what will happen.

It's game two tonight. Let's see. Dallas crumbled down the stretch as their bench went silent. What I find critical here is not really Dirk's injury. It's his off hand and though it can affect his shot, he's attempted much more with even higher difficulty that he can still make his shots consistently. My main concern, would be the bench. Jason Terry was hot during the first half of Game 1, with three 3s, then went scoreless the rest of the way. J.J. Barea? 1 for 8. Peja? Scoreless. In short, they were like the Bulls. Able to get shots, but did not make the Heat pay. Hopefully it turns around in Game 2. I want to see a long series between these two teams.
