What makes you for being stubborn?

We have our own reason for being stubborn. Sometimes we really tend not to obey our parents and other people because of the pride that we have or the temptation as well. For example we don't want to sing it is because it is either you are not on the mood or you don't know how to sing that is why you don't like. Or in health condition, the doctor have already told you everything when it comes to the food that you need to avoid but still you are keep on eating that food because you are being tempted to eat that. So why are you stubborn? Do you think it made you success when you were not able to follow other people's advise? Or what are the consequences when you were stubborn?
