PRESIDENT of the WORLD..!!

A global government! I doubt whether too many would be in favour of that. Americans & Australians will never sign up for that! Elections would be an administrative nightmare & would probably take months to conduct & finalize. Many parts of the world have a lot of problems voting freely. Corruption, sabotage, etc all at a local level would need to be resolved first for there to be anything like a free election. How my vote is cast would depend on many things like how much power does this president have over my daily life & how effective would such a president then be? Would we be selecting candidates from a known pool of proven leaders or would there be plenty of unknowns thrown in for the first time? How about Nobel Prize winners? I'm thinking more along the lines of "better the devil you know than the devil you don't". In any case, I'd like someone with demonstrated ideals close to my own & has been working with & advising world governments for many years. One of my choices, as of this moment, would be Nobel Peace Prize winner, chairman of the IPCC & a fairly recent president of the UN, Dr Rajendra Pachauri.
