Now--revealed in a book described at http://news.yahoo.com/s/ac/20110527/us_ac/8526973_area_51_back_in_spotlight_with_new_book_national_geographic_special_1&h=1b88b (i guess)--we know that the vessel was a Russian spycraft and the aliens were genetically-altered Russians. I liked the E.T. story better, didn't you?

I actually did like the E.T. Story more because it was much more heart felt. It actually made me tear even after seeing the film 3 times and reading the book. It made me emotional, and sort of connect with the little alien fellow as if he was human with true emotions and feelings.

Hey! Let's us three work out a script for E.T. 2: Russian Mutant Ninja Midgets and shop it over to Spielberg! Chop-chop!

I loved the story ET!! What a great movie that was. The Russian story is still just a rumor, isn't it? I thought they had not confirmed that. That was the last thing I read about it.

I 'Search the Web'-ed for confirmation on it, but (not really caring to even dig so deep as to scroll past the first screen of results for 'area 51 russian mutants') I only saw that book as the only 'proof' of the Russian mutants, and didn't even dig deep enough to see how the author proved it (except that she said it was top-secret, and who's gonna come forward to support or deny something 'top-secret'?)

That is almost as creepy as the alien story. To think that the Soviets were genetically altering people even back then..well..that opens up the new question..what have they been doing to people since? I think I like the alien story better too. I saw a 60 minutes where they were interviewing retired employees of Area 51 and they were letting it all hang out. They actually claimed that there was alien stuff going on there. Of course they may have been going along with what the government wanted them to say if there was genetic altering at large...hmm...freaky.

Hello Myth, As long as they are not building Weapons of Mass destruction that could back fire at the entire humanity, i leave them be. besides, these aliens are annoying coming around in our place and not doing anything at all to make contact with us, except with experimental concerns. they don't have the right to do anything they want with our bodies each time they abducted us. i got better things to do than just worried about aliens, i will kick their butts if they dare invade us

I know. The only way I could see it having any effect on me is if one of 'the little men' (green- or Russian-) snuck over and impregnated one of my great-grand-family that's native to the area.
