Would you write a journal for your baby?

Recently I wrote an article about this. Since my child borne I have been writing a journal dedicated to him. I write on it everything I want him to know someday. All about him, all about me, anecdotes,my feelings, things about his family and much more. I hope someday I would be able to give it to him, but if unfortunately something happen to me, at least he has something to know his mom a little bit. I think this is so sweet. I love to jounal for him. I don't do it every day, not even every week, but once in a while I update my journal with the last news about us and some other stuff. I wonder if other moms also do this. What do think? Would you do it?

I don't have any kids (as yet) but when my baby brother was born we started keeping track of all of the little things. First words he spoke, first steps he took, first outing he went on and even people that came to visit and the presents they brought him. I think its a great idea.

I think it's really nice and sweet to write a journal for our kids, it doesn't only let them know what'd happened to them when they were young, they also got to know how the parents think. I am writing a blog for my 2 year old son, I try to write down any interesting things he has done, anything about him in the blog, but sometimes I am too busy to turn on the laptop and blog. Sometimes I write a few posts in a day, but sometimes I write a few in a week. I am also thinking, in future, he can also write in his blog, then we can also communicate in the blog. Sometimes, it's nice to write it down instead of talk face-to-face. Also, we can always go back and read what we have written, and keep it as a memory for us.

That is true Kaka. Something I like about do this is that I am young now and I want to let him know how I think right now. When he grows I will be older and I probably I don't going to think the same way.

Hi, Jameygc, What you are doing is admirable. I hope your son will appreciate it when you give it to him. I have been planning to start a journal when I was still single, promising myself to have one for my baby. But I never get around doing it. I only have a baby book (fortunately a friend gave it to me during the baptism of my baby) that I was able to fill out with the milestones of my baby. Maybe when I have my second child...

Thank you. And yeah, maybe you can do one for both of them. I think it is worth it.

I have never done this but I think it's a great idea. I had to spend the last couple weeks of my last pregnancy on bed rest and it was very annoying to me because I am use to even when sick to keep going, but we had to make sure I could carry him as long as possible after a few close calls. If I had thought of this I would actually of started one then. My sister was taking care of my next to youngest at the time and I was home most of the day alone with just my chihuahua for company don't get me wrong she was great company but the couple days blogger was down I was soooo bored. I didn't even have mylot for company back then. =( Yes I would of started one had I thought of it but since this is baby 6 with two adopted and four biological then I probably wont be starting one now since they do not. It's a good idea and something that will be great to look back on for you and the baby. =)

Never is late. You could start one for all your kids. There you can put your memories of each of them. It would work too.

I was doing it... I was writing about each day when I was pregnant, to have something to give to my child, but unfortunatly our baby will never read that... I think is amazing this what you're doing for sure your son will appreciate this in the time he'll get it. When you're planning to give him? How old he'll be?

I don't for sure when exactly is going to be the perfect moment to give him but when the moment comes I will know. I am very sorry for what you are going through but don't give up. Trust in God and you will see that some day you also will going to be able of keep a journal for another special little thing.
