11 Weeks Pregnant

May 28, 2011 10:28am CST
I am 11 weeks pregnant. I am excited to go to OB for my check up this morning. I can't wait to hear my baby's heartbeat but when my OB put the heartbeat detector in my tummy. I became sad because we do not hear any sounds or heartbeat of my baby. Now I am worried though my OB explained it to me clearly that is normal for 11 weeks. Though I believed in my OB but I cannot avoid worrying about what happened. My OB ask me to go back on the 12 weeks of my pregnancy. I am getting paranoid while waiting for that day. Anyone who experienced this? is it really normal not to hear yet the baby's heart beat in 11 weeks old?

don't worry too much - it'll cause you stress - which is not good both for you and the baby. just wait and pray that everything's gonna be fine. anyway congratulations to you. take care of yourself. i'm already on my 7th month of pregnancy with my 2nd baby. i hope everything will be fine...

Hi there and a warm welcome to myLot. Yes it is normal to not hear the heart beat until the 12 weeks. Some can hear it after 9 - 10 weeks. There are some factors as to why not sooner and or rather later. Don't worry dear as it can make you a bit too stress and not good for you and the baby. I am sure all is fine, if not your OB would have done further testing. Congrats on your pregnancy and many blessings to you and your family. Here is a link which can explain it further. Welcome to MyLot and congratulation on your pregnancy. Yeah, most people will said that it is normal. You should hear it soon. As long as the scan is okay, then it should be fine. Provide yourself with nutritious food to keep both you and you baby healthy and stay stress free.
