Is it easy to get a tourist visa in korea. I have a cousin who just went there because she is married to a korean. But the marriage took place here in our country. But they will also get married in korea. I'm thinking of visiting her maybe next couple of years. Lolz.. I'm just wondering if its easy to get a tourist visa for korea.

between processing and possible schedule for interview, it could take a few days to a few weeks. so one need to accomplish all the requirements so that visa application would be a breeze.
i haven't been to north korea. south korea is beautiful, especially jeju island. i've been there a few years ago. so when applying for your visa, provide enough time for the processing before the actual travel itself. this would allow better preparation. one other suggestion is not to pass your visa application during or near the holidays... because by then, processing could be an extended wait.
goodluck!

@ angelbelle,
i've only been to seoul and another town close to it. they have public rides there like buses and taxis.
if going to jeju, there's a bus from the incheon international airport going to the gimpo domestic airport. that's where flights going to jeju are.
local korean restaurants like a noodle house or something have reasonable prices. $250 for 3 days fare and food (excluding airfare and accommodation), if you are not a spender, should be enough. but bring extra just in case. it's much better if you have more, just to be prepared. you don't need to spend everything anyway. hehe
there are many shops for souvenirs. cheaper ones are outside of seoul.

I heard about Jeju island from many Korea novela. I'll put that on my list. I don't have a date of travel yet. Do they have public transo or taxi only? Is $250 enough for like 3 day in South korea excluding airfare?

I wish they would bring back the direct flight from Manila to Jeju island. Did you know that Filipinos need not to apply for a Korean Visa if they in Jeju island only?

For Filipinos, application for a Korean visa is free of charge. I just don't know how strict they are nowadays. So far, I haven't heard of any disapproved visa for those clients of ours who applied...

yes it seem so! South korea is my dream country to visit one day. I found out to my friend who used to work there for 2yrs. She said that we only need 1,500$ to visit the for a couple of days. we only need money and passport if we go there as a tourist visa.
