My Fondest Gaming Moment

Nobody's ever asked me to tell my fondest gaming moment and I'm glad; I would be hard-pressed to choose just one. Still, this is something I often think about, usually while doing some mindless activity such as work. One that immediately springs to mind is about X-COM: UFO Defense. Realistically, there are a number of moments throughout that game that could qualify for this discussion. But they all pale in comparison to the way I ended that game. Picture this: I brought the battle to the aliens at Cydonia on Mars. I infiltrated their base and pretty much cleaned house with my most elite soldiers. I sent a soldier up a lift into a small room and discovered the target: a large, disembodied brain. Also in the room were three or four Ethereals--aliens with very powerful psionics; they shot the soldier dead immediately. That was the end of my turn. At the beginning of my next turn, I saved the game, then sent a soldier I didn't care about into the room with the Ethereals. Again, they shot him dead. But doing this gave me their exact positions. I then switched over to my most powerful psionic and targeted an Ethereal, choosing Mind Control. It was a gamble as I wasn't certain such powerful psi creatures could be controlled, but it paid off. Right away, I was controlling an Ethereal. So I simply turned it around and targeted the alien brain. As I remember, I hit it only once, but it was enough. The game ended and I was satisfied at the irony of my victory strategy. Because I had saved immediately before winning, I wound up finishing it several times over. The first time, however, was the best time. Please tell me about some of your best moments from any kind of videogame, console, PC, whatever.

CAn it be a regular game? one of my favorite moments was playing air hockey with my husband. We played at best of five and I beat him three in a row. He is a extremely sore loser and I was thrilled with my victory. Now we no longer play air hockey together because he is a chicken :)
