Do you still eat the left over in your refrigerator even if it's already a week?

I just wonder if you still eat your left overs when it's already a week in the ref? well, I sometimes do. Some people said, it is not good or not safe but maybe it all depends upon the type of food. How many days your food in the ref that you still think you can eat them safely?

If it is not used within a couple of days then I usually freeze it. Food is so expensive out here and we just cannot waste food or anything else. I usually smell it first but as my fridge is not used in the days then it is usually all right to eat. We tend to double up when cooking. For example, last night my son made enough curried chicken for two days sio we will have it tonight as we are both not getting home until after 7pm.k

That's right!! food are too expensive and we can not afford to just throw it away. it is better to just make food enough to be consumed for one setting.

Yes i will eat without minding about that leftover things. But before i will make sure that leftover thing should be good then i will continue with that thing. There is no harm to eat leftover food make sure that it should be good then it is good to eat. Usually i won't leave things in refrigerator for a long days like what you have mentioned. Maximum 3 days will be end day for that leftover food.

I'm one of those people that say it may not be safe to eat if they're over a week old. I'll eat something that may be 2 or 3 days old, and it does depend on what it is. If its got something green growing on it, I'd say throw it out..lol.

I do eat leftovers. However, I have admit that I am usually a little hesitant to eat leftovers that are already a week old. If it's a couple of days old, that's one thing, but a week old is another matter. If it's been a week, chances are I might throw it out. Mainly because I don't want to get sick, and I don't want others to get sick either. Usually after a week, I'm not sure how good it is.

If the food was only left over for a day or two in the refrigerator, i will consume them. The most important is, depends upon the kind of food which can still be consume after we kept in the refrigerator. Especially for meat and fish, i prefer to eat them the very next day. I think if we kept them for a week, of course they won't fit for us to consume anymore. For our healthy sake, it is better not to consume food that are kept too long in the refrigerator.

That's what I think too. But I know of come people who still eat the left over even if it is over one week and they are fine. Maybe it all depends upon the kind of food.

Isn't that why preservatives were invented? It really only depends whether you're keeping perishable goods like meat, poultry and vegetables and/or processed foods and drinks opened canned goods, juice,etc..the important thing is to check expiration dates on cans and packages before hoarding them into the fridge. Fruits and veggies are best eaten fresh and meat should be prepared immediately.
