Vegetarians can eat eggs because it does not involve killing the animal. Those that do not eat eggs or dairy products are called vegans

An egg is not an unborn chicken because it has never been fertilised. It is the equivalent of a women's period, not of the unborn
It is animal protein, as are dairy products but, in the English language, vegetarian is used to denote specifically a person tat eats plant matter, eggs and dairy product

In my opinion, products that produced from animals are considered non veg. Veg foods from the word itself means it came from vegetables. Since egg came from chicken and chicken is not a vegetable, so it is not a veg food. A true Vegan never eat or take something that animal produce including milk and egg.

Yes I agree with you to an extent but in India Veg is one that does not require to kill any living being .......
But irony is that EGG has no living being in it still Indian consider it non veg no one is killed like in other non veg

A hen can lay eggs without a rooster and then the egg would be vegetarian since no life is there. If the rooster fertilizes the hen and then she lays the egg, there is an embryo there and you are killing a potential life if you eat the egg.

In UK eggs are dairy product not meat and this is a English language forum and English is our language, so eggs are poultry not meat

How does a chicken comes? Of course, it is from egg of a hen only. Then, how one can say that egg is a vegetarian food. Killing a hen within a womb is called eating egg, so purely I can say that egg is a non-veg food.

But arun Egg does not contain hen it contains protein and required raw material to form hen but its yet not formed killing comes when it has been formed and we kill hen infact .........
But yes we can say its like seed of hen but no living being in it untill Hen hatch it herself

according to me there is nothing that we eat is vegetarian
what do you mean by non-vegetarian- killing other living thing and feeding in them
from grains to fruits we eat everything is living so no one can say i m pure vegetarian

But plants r not unlike other living beings that weeps or defend or has senses like seeing ,touch ,taste but I agree plants do breath take food in that way they r living but in India we consider plants as veg and all comes after killing some living being is non veg ......
Egg , no one is killed ,still its considered as non veg in our country ..........

Dear friend,
I feel even those plants are living things, they do have life, they need food, shelter, water, air. But only thing I feel is that they are much less harmful that other living things. Non vegetarian especially those meat food, for me egg is non vegetarian it is unborn hen, that had came out from an hen. Will a non born pig child in womb cooked and ate is absolutely not vegetarian.
