In todays world no one is ready to start their own business. All college students are seeking only for jobs and not for business. Why is this so? No student is trying to start their own business after finishing college. Ok, the business involves lot of problems to be resolved , but if we work hard then after certain time we can be well positioned in business, but in case of job it is not so, we have to work hard throughout life , and we cannot guarantee that the current job will last for ever. if they lay off from the job then we have search for another job throughout their life. But in case of business we have to only work hard for the initial stage, but in later time we can be happy. My question is why today's students are not willing to take risks initially in business but they are willing to take risks throughout life by joining in jobs.? I have started a new business on my own after my college without any background, and iam fine now after so many hurdles. How many of u are ready to start own business?

@magnafrost: No offense, but I don't think any of those millionaires and billionaires are working for someone else on the way to their fortune, do they? As they say, you reap what you sow...The lesser you sow, the lesser you reap at the end of the day... Just throwing out my two cents...Happy MyLotting!

I dunno about the general opinion today, but I'm in the second year of my college and I've decided that I'm not gonna work under any boss. So I'm gonna start a business on my own and that's gonna be my career. It's time I realized that my Engineering degree isn't gonna define my career.

hi, building an own business is really hard to an individual especially when there's no capital goods to use,and this capital is very important before you build a business,so for me i need to work first and keep money so that after that i have money that i can use to build a business.

Why today's students are not willing to take risks initially in business but they are willing to take risks throughout life by joining in jobs? I think this factual statistic will answer your question, my friend - almost 95 percent of business of any kind, online or offline, failed in their first five years. Another 95 percent of the remaining 5 percent will eventually failed in the next five years. Only some of them survived the wave, now at the pinnacle of their success business...Nevertheless, it shouldn't be an excuse for us to not to start our own business...No matter how unsignificant our business is, be proud that we put our fate in our own hands (obviously, after leaving the others to God Almighty)... As for me, I am now ready to start my own business...I was thinking of something that I can do online like opening an online store, or maybe opening a stall at the roadside, if you are guessing of an offline thing I think I can do... Happy MyLotting!

I was ready a few years ago, but at the time business was not on my mind, and I made a mistake of maxing out my credit card. Now i am working to pay that off, instead of investing in a business. Business is risky, and I would take the risk if only I could afford to.

I used to have no plans at all, not even knowing which course to take for college, when I was in high school. But recently, I've been feeling a lot like I really, really wanted to start my own business. Thing is, I am willing, I am ready to take on the challenges, but I don't have any background whatsoever, and very much lack resources. But I'm finding ways, and I think I'm getting there.

It could be that they fear rejection or being let down. I am 32 years old and have started back into getting things together for my business. I don't want to work for somebody else, I want to retire when im ready and not when the government think I should at 65. The kind of business I want to open is something im good at and is a passion of mines. I have more than one thing in mind and I will accomplish that goal very soon. I took a break from things because of my health but I have to be strong and get the ball rolling again. Anyone who knows anything about business knows that the first couple of years you're not really going to see a huge profit. It takes patience and determination to be successful. Im even going back to school to get my Associates in Business and in Computer Information Management. And on the side im going to be a Tax Consultant and a Notary, so I have alot on my plate and ready to get things going.

I had been working right after I got my professional license. After quitting my job for almost 6 years, I find that it's not easy to find better opportunities. For now I'm trying to start my own business from the little savings I had, but I wish I was interested in doing business right after graduation. At least,I should have planned and saved enough money for that.Besides, business is really more permanent, and having the chance to control your own time is a plus. I think the reason why most college students is not interested in doing business actually starts with mind set.Maybe we are just accustomed to think that we should study to have a good job.We really need to change how we think and maybe adapt the Chinese way of thinking; to study to have our own business. To be our own boss and not just to be a good employee forever.
