Should I return the iPhone?

My company had some spare money for equipment so my boss bought an iPhone for each member of the department to use. I've had the iPhone for about six months now. However, I'm thinking of applying for a new job in a different department of the company. If I change departments, do you think I should have to return the iPhone? I'll still be in the same company so it will still be company property. But maybe the person who replaces me would like to use the phone. But what if they already have their own iPhone - mine would just sit in a box somewhere and be used by no one.

I'm in a similar situation. Except my work didn't give me a phone. They pay for part of my cell phone bill. I have freedom to get any phone & plan I want & they pay for portion of it. I use my phone for both work & personal reasons. As far as your situation goes, I guess it depends on what your boss wants to do. I'm assuming the monthly bill in whole amount is being paid by your work? In that case, I don't think you have a choice but to return the phone, or at least speak to your boss about it.

Honesty is always the best policy...sit down and have a talk with your boss to let him/her know your plans. If you already have your own then there's really no use for the one that was given by your boss unless you don't want business calls coming thru on your personal number. Alot of people have 2 phones for that reason...good luck
