My real first name is Rhanne. I asked my mom why did she named me "Rhanne". She told that when i was born one of my cousin called me "pandopo", she was pertaining to the king of Philippine cinema FPJ which born as "Ronnie Poe". My side-whisker is quite noticeable even when i was just a baby, I guess that's why she called me that. So boom! my parents decided to name me "ronnie" but my grandma insist that that kind of name was too commom, so they decided to make a different spelling and they came up with "rhanne".That's how I get my name but some people always pronounce my name wrong they always thought that it should pronounce as "rain" not "runny". But either way, it both sounds good for me. How bout you, What is your name and how did you get it?

My name is Courtney Lynn. I don't really have anything special...my parents liked Courtney and decided to name me that. All the females in my family have the middle name of Lynn so it got passed down to me. Nothing exciting, but I do like my name.

I am just glad you did put your real name here. My name is also pronounced in different ways. I don't mind it either, so long as they know who I am.

Thanks. I guess we, Filipinos are just like that, We read words as it is written that's why our name are always pronounced in a different way than it is supposed to be. Well I just love it when they pronounced my name as "Rain". And I'm also glad having an unusual name rather than common.

I am Rebecca Adele. My parents just liked "Rebecca" although my mother wanted to name me Brianna after my father, Brian, he wouldn't let her because he hates that name! My middle name is Adele because my mother's father, who passed away when she was pregnant with me, was Delmer, so she named me sort of a female version of his nickname, "Del". I hate plain, "ordinary" English names, and so does my husband (he had two of the most common names of his generation; Michael Brian) Our daughter is named Tempest Athena. Tempest means a strong storm, and we knew her personality would be stormy because both of us have rather tempestuous natures! Athena is the Greek goddess of wisdom.

LO. You're right I think it's really cool having a name which is not common.Well in my country my Name is not that common and not all can pronounce my name correctly. I'm happy hearing my name mispronounced cause they're just making it sounds good,. I think it's cool.

I was the second child and was named Robert after my great Uncle on my mothers side. There was tradition for one generation to name a male child Robert and in the next generation to use the name James, then Robert and so on. I did name my son James.

hi rhannealmoite that sounds rather nice to me. I never really liked the name they gave me. Patsie Margaret. I do like Patricia b ut not the nickmane Patsie. b ut now I am eldedrly and used to it and too no matter how you look at it your name is on a zillion legal p apers and it wo uld be hell on earth to try to change it as you would h ave to notify all the various agencies that have your name and get it done legally so I have just keep patsie. Patricia sound really elegant but Patsie does not do it for me,. I never got a real answer when I asked why I was named Patsie . I am a genaology buff and found out though that my great grand aunt was also named Patsie so that helps a bit.I have fou nd a lot of people that are friends like my name. go figure.

My full name is quite long. It is actually a combination of my grandmother's name, my mom's name and my dad's middle name. Yes my first name is actually composed of 3 names so it is really a pain to right this name when I was young.

My name is Ana Marie. Ana was my maternal grandmother's middle name and Marie was my paternal grandmother's middle name. They are both extraordinary ladies and I am proud to be named after them. I love family names and plan to pass on the tradition if/when I have children.

My name is Uday Vedant. Uday is a name given by my father. There was a king in India(Rajasthan). His name was Udai Singh. That king was my father's favorite one. So he gave me the name Uday. Vedant comes from the word "vedas". My ancestors were spiritual guys. That is how I got my second name vedant.

Interesting name, I thought it was pronounced as "Ran". Lucky I know the whole story now. As for me, my name's Renavil which was a suggestion of my grandma too. She wanted both my parents name combined to form my name, RENA for Renato, my dad, and VIL for Vilma, my mom. Anyways, nice meeting you Rhanne! :)

My name is Vanessa. My mother says it's a gorgeous name and she didn't want me to have an ugly name haha. It means "butterfly" in greek. I'm very happy with my name, if I had a super common name it wouldn't be half as special, and if it was a super uncommon name it'd be misspelled and wrongly pronounced too much. :D
